Job Description:
GPU Silicon Validation Architect
POSITION: GPU Silicon Validation Architect (Member of Technical Staff or above )
As an GPU focused post silicon Validation Architect, you lead the development of plans, methodologies, and strategies to ensure high levels of coverage and excellent product quality through post-silicon validation.
You are a technically-strong leader, passionate about technology, and understand the value of "thinking outside the box".
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Lead the development of state-of-the-art validation methodologies and techniques for next generation AMD graphic products .
o Collaboratively develop test plans with input from design and supporting teams
o Define HW and SW tools and targeted diagnostic to capture post silicon issues
o Understand Marketing needs to ensure "time to market" and quality are balanced
o Identify program risks in terms of coverage, enablement and execution
o Provide technically detailed status reports
Silicon/Feature Focused Validation Architect Responsibilities:
1. Understand macro architecture of chip in question and as much of micro architecture as possible (both functional and electrical)
a. Engage with Design and Verification team early in the Development life cycle to understand feature list of new design/silicon
2. Represent Silicon Validation in CTA groups, either as a lead, sub-lead, or primary contributor - define strategy, assure all teams working on validation focused activities are aligned and coordinated.
a. Drive design concerns into validation org as well as bring back validation concerns to CTA and design.
b. Work with the design and validation planning leads to review test plans and to create a realistic plan that can be supported by resources
3. Create a strategy to Test, Debug, and Validate the chip in question- Identify tools and new test cases needed and engage with the various teams to implement test cases in their plans - drive a Gap Analysis
a. Ensure project validation/bring-up planning quality and efficiency.
b. Determine what we are not going to validate due to limited resources
c. Define New Test, Debug, and Validation Silicon Features
d. Work with Design (Arch/RTL/Verification/Implementation) team to ensure that we have appropriate features for
Debug and Validation, i.e. cache/dram irritators, performance counters
e. Negotiate and Track design adoption and implementation
f. Define New Test, Debug, and Validation Tools including diagnostics and tools (hardware and software), and other apps/software necessary for project validation.
4. Ensure coverage of all critical features in verification/validation and development of appropriate test plans
a. Monitor execution of test plans & validation coverage, participate in Silicon Evaluation & assist with any test plan/coverage adjustments
b. Eliminate coverage holes and redundancy
Requirement:
? A minimum of 8+ years experience, 3+ years experience in either pre-silicon or post-silicon design verification and closely interact with HW designers
? Solid understanding for ASIC/SoC design flow and validation process
? Excellent knowledge and experience with pre-silicon and post-silicon verification methodologies and tools, such as SW emulator, simulation, FPGA, benchmark tools, etc.
? Good understanding for at least one ISA SoC architecture, such as X86, ARM, MIPS, etc
? Program management skills
? Good software programming experience for C/C++
? Strong communication skills in both Chinese and English
? Knowledge and experience for 3D graphics is highly desired
