About Vox Supply Partners – Background to The Role

Vox is a specialist supplier of display and merchandising to global brands providing a more efficient supply model for POP that emphasises global consolidation and a highly efficient supply chain from manufacturing in China.
Originally founded in the '90's, the company has enjoyed rapid growth with offices in London, Chicago and Suzhou with production shipped to customers in Europe, North America and all over the world.

The Vox Supply Group is divided into specialist business units and design and manufacture drawing is a critical function within each supply team so additional Draftmen based in Jiangsu are now required to support the expansion of our business and to strengthen our service by working more closely with our manufacturing partners in China


Our Structure & the Context of this Role

This is a new role created in response to volume growth in our workload, feedback from our customers on how we can improve and opportunity to expand our business in global markets.
The role will line up alongside our experienced engineer teams UK and USA and report to the Operations Manager with ongoing guidance and support from our Operations head in China. The role will carry responsibility for producing accurate manufacturing drawings and will require good working relationships with our external manufacturing partners in China and the engineering team in UK and USA.


Position Objectives

? To assume timely response to the engineer team of UK and USA To finish the drawing/design accurately to meet the requirement from the clients
? To provide complete production ready drawing packs based on briefing form UK and US teams.
? To provide drawing updates based on approved design changes.

Responsibilities of the Role

Strategy Implementation
? The Vox strategy for growth involves 100% reliable supply on-specification and on-time so this role will be responsible for the successful implementation of this strategy within the assigned business unit through concept , design, manufacture drawing, quality from project beginning to end of each project

Team Membership
? With specific responsibility for creating accurate drawings, this role will be an important part both of the business unit team alongside commercial, sales and supply managers and of the whole QC team in China. Therefore good team-spirit, communication and professionalism is expected to collaborate effectively with colleagues in other functions and business unit teams across the whole Group.

Commercial Impact
? Driving zero faults, valued design and accurate drawing, continuous improvement and increased efficiency in the production of our products will have a direct impact on the success of the business unit and the company.

Provision of Advice / Support / Service
? Representing Vox values and delivering clear drawings and instruction to our production partners.
? Delivering accurate and timely first-hand QC check list to QC Team, and recommendations to operations/ sales team to have a valued engineer design.

The Key Activities that will constitute effective performance

? On-time engineering drawings and solutions submit to meet the deadline.
? Valued engineer design to lower the cost and increase the production efficacy
? Response to QC/Factory/Operation/Supply for any suggestion/advice for drawing design
? 1st time to finish the drawing correctly


The Key Stakeholders that the job holder will provide a service to

? The Business Unit Engineering Head and Supply Manager
? The Operations Manager in China and the group QC team
? Our Production partners in China.


KPIs

? Collectively as a member of the business unit, the achievement of specific pre-agreed targets on business volume and profitability.
? Drawing and design accuracy, co-operation with team members of each business unit
? Performance appraisals will be annual and we will also depend on feedback from customers and colleagues.

Skills, Aptitudes & Experience Required

? Engineering background or related.
? At least 3 – 5 years-experience in a relevant area of engineer or design
? Has an excellent command of the latest Solidworks version.
? Have the experience for the industry - POP, Store fixture, Displays.
? A driving license and the determination to travel to factories across China as required
? Excellent familiarity with metalwork production and design
? Good familiarity with wood production and design
? Good familiarity with print.
? Great interpersonal skills, can communicate with the UK and US office by e-mail in English,
 Education to degree level and English language preferred.
? Flexibility in working hours to communicate well with colleagues in multiple time zones.


The Remuneration package

? Salary TBC plus performance bonus to be agreed.
? Mileage allowance for own car plus business expenses.
? Company standard holiday allowance.
