Responsibilities

Provide clients with transportation planning services, including work on: transportation master plan studies; functional planning studies; public engagement facilitation; traffic impact studies; environmental assessments for transportation facilities; parking studies; traffic data collection and analysis; traffic calming studies; safety assessments; and transportation study peer reviews.



Prepare documentation related to current or prospective projects, including quality assurance; correspondence; reports; proposals; expressions of interest; and meeting minutes.



Carry out project management activities such as project team co-ordination, monitoring schedule and budget compliance, and invoice preparation.



Communicate and work with other project team members to provide quality and timely service to clients to ensure that all documentation conforms to client/ company standards.



Liase with and assist other departments and offices in the provision of transportation planning services to clients



Co-ordinate environmental assessment processes for planning studies



Manage environmental specialists (on staff or sub-consultant) contributing to projects



Research (literature and field work) and preparing planning reports



Prepare for and participate in Public Information Centres



Meet with clients and prepare deliverables for clients



Other duties as assigned



Requirements

Degree in Transportation Engineering, Planning or related discipline.

Excellent technical and analytical skills

Excellent presentation, facilitation and writing skills

Excellent project management skills with respect to completing projects and proposals on time and on budget.

At least 5 years practical experience with traffic data collection, modelling and analysis, and traffic operations analysis

Candidate with more experience will be considered for the senior position.

Knowledge of, and experience with, the application of engineering standards

Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project

Previous consulting experience an asset

Fluent in Putonghua and English
