Overview:
The Field Engineer is a regional working customer facing technical engineering representative for his dedicated region within a specific industry and/or technology. The FE is responsible for business growth by providing technical solutions for customer relay applications through the project/opportunity pipeline and also by working to identify new market/industry trends and customer needs not currently being met.
Key Responsibilities:
? Work with customers to provide technical solutions for identified relay business opportunities within the assigned industry or technology. Drive engineering projects related to these opportunities regarding qualification testing, Agency Approval, product extensions, etc. in order to win the business.
? Identify current and future customer and Industry needs regarding relays and work with the Relay Team (Engineering, Product Management) to help identify the market opportunity and grow the relay engineering project pipeline.
? Proactively interface and communicate with the strategic accounts to build and maintain strong working relationships, especially with a customers’ design / technology organizations. Maintain regular contact with customers to manage customer expectations about project timelines, milestones and deliverables.
? Provide a high level of customer support, consulting services and application advice for assigned industry on all technical-related topics concerning TE relays.
? Present TE proposals to customers (in conjunction with the Product Manager) regarding relay design changes, product extensions, and new product launches and manage the approval.
? Proactively interface and communicate with internal TE relay stakeholders (i.e. Engineering, Product Management) to build and maintain strong relationships to achieve the customer deliverables and to provide regular project status updates.
? Understand the customer’s strategy and technology roadmap, the market, competition, and trends and apply this knowledge to customer solutions. Skills /
Qualifications:
? University engineering degree (Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Electronics engineering preferred)
? Professional level engineering experience.
? A broad and deep knowledge of TE technologies and product portfolio (relays) and the relevant customers’ application/s.
? Basic understanding of relay design / engineering principles, materials (especially contacts), manufacturing processes, and Agency Approval Standards
? Ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities in line with business plans.
? High level of written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate in English.
? Ability to professionally interact and develop relationships with customers
