Overview:
Lead and monitor new product development projects and the provision of technical support with the objective of meeting new product development and IP targets within the R&D policies, procedures and systems.
Responsibilities:
New Product Development and maintenance:
(i) Collect information from sales, marketing and customers, and propose new product development ideas;
(ii) Review the product patents, conduct feasibility study, prepare related document and present in some cases;
(iii) Product extension, support on manufacturing / customer / marketing technical related activities.
(iv) Provide concept / design and feasibility study. Well documentation for drawing / spec / necessary engineering documents; Follow up with TE LEANPD process (new development process), conduct the mandatory and optional engineering practices (PRD, QFD, DFMEA, etc.);
(v) Hands-on try-out in customer side or lab for getting feasible technical proposal and problem/issues solving, also for new solutions;
(vi) Communicate with Safety Approval Agency and get product certification.
Continuous Improvement:
Conduct product/process improvement (as feasibility research, target setting, design, testing, document drafting and presentation) or lead larger improvement projects by analyzing the current status from multi-resources in order to improve the product quality and operating process efficiency.
Innovation and IP:
Search for related patents in the initial stage of projects; evaluate the potential patent opportunity during project process; prepare patent document and review the document revised by third party in order to file more IP for Industrial's products.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Technical Qualification & Experience:
? Bachelor degree or above, majored in mechanical engineering or related field;
? At least 8 years working experience in connector technology field;
? Knowledged about molding, stamping, plating and auto assembly processes;
? Skilled in material usage, industry standard;
? Proficient to use Creo (Pro/E) software with solid working experience.
Personal Attributes & Competencies:
? Effective problem solving skills, willingness/ability to deal with multiple product and assigned tasks;
? Willing to communicate proactively with good communication skills in English (oral and written) in order to correctly understand customer requirement and conveying engineering information;
? Accountable. Good hands-on working experience, willing and keen for hands-on work;
? Interpersonal skills, willing to collaborate in and out of the team, also globally ;
? Proactive, never wait for other’s direction;
? Quick learner, willing to learn new things and technologies;
