Project Management
Allocates resources, monitors project schedule, and periodically reviews project performance in order to ensure timely completion. Exercises considerable latitude in determining the project steps and approaches. The project often requires discretion and independent judgment. Provides leadership, coaching and training to professional engineers. May also prepare project budget for approval.
Product development
1. New Product: Identifies the priority of new product development potentials to draft product roadmaps and key initiatives. Initiates or approves new product development projects, confirms and reviews client budget and quality in order to satisfy customers' demands in a technically sound and economical way.
2. Product Improvement: Develops knowledge of relevant new technologies, materials, equipment and market trends, and applies knowledge in order to determine needs and opportunity to improve existing products.
Technical support
Exercises discretion and independent judgment when faced with technical problems. Provides technical guidelines which require a review of a variety of factors. Establishes standards of procedure, in order to avoid deviation in the manufacturing or implementation of the product. Provides technical training to other functions and external customers in order to introduce new products.
Product qualification
Determines the evaluation or test needed and confirms the accuracy of the report contents in order to ensure that the product meets the quality specification. May provide alternatives to the quality standards that are more imaginative, practicable and consistent with the company's objectives. Analyzes the causes of failure and identifies solutions to complex problems.
Innovation & IP
Writes technical papers on subjects of innovation. Reviews patent searches to determine patentability of proposed designs in order to ensure that others' patents are not infringed upon. Provides innovative solutions to reduce product cost, improve product quality, and improve process efficiency. Documents and communicates potential IP to ensure TE's IP is protected. May also participate in industry standards organizations.
Product specification
Determine specifications for new technologies and platforms, performs engineering calculation to analyze and describe the product in order to establish a standard characteristic. Provides input and discusses specification with customers and industry standards organizations.
Qualification
1. B.S. of Engineering(EE is better) with 12 or more years of experience or Masters of Science with 8 or years of experience; PhD with 6 or more years of experience.
2. Know well about: electronic information engineering, or signal and information processing, or measurement and control technology and instrumentation; or communication engineering
3. It is better to have experience in high frequent connecting solution development, understand high frequent connector product development roadmap, or connector application in Autonomous vehicles
4. Has wide-ranging experience. Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Work is intellectual in nature. Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques. Has a full understanding of the development of the industry. Interacts effectively with customers at a peer level. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Aware of cultural differences that may exist in business and technical practices and applies them effectively in global interactions. Willingness to travel globally. Opportunity to work with various global cultures.
