Job Description & Responsibilities

At PwC, our Human Resources (HR) professionals drive the firm’s people strategy, create a unique people experience, and work with the business to drive success in the marketplace. The HR function supports our people in reaching their full market value which then sets PwC apart as the distinctive Firm as the ‘employer of choice’.
People Analytics & Insights, a newly created capability in the HR Strategy & Transformation team, enables the firm to drive its people strategy across Mainland China and Hong Kong. Leveraging on the large datasets and advanced statistics tools, the People Analytics & Insights Specialist analyse the data, draw insights and recommendations to inform business and human capital decision making and actions.

The major responsibilities include:



  • Understand and translate the business requirements on people strategic priorities into data-driven solutions supported by relevant hypotheses and advanced analytics;

  • Develop predictive analytic models to assist current and future-oriented (3-5 years) people strategy and decisions (e.g. recruitment, engagement, retention), with the use of various sources and types of data (e.g. demographic/HRM, attitudinal, and behavioural data);

  • Manage regular surveys to understand key people-related aspects such as people engagement;

  • Develop relevant approach for advanced analytics, including data requirements, selection of appropriate statistical approaches, as well as synthesising data sets from a variety of sources;

  • Analyse and interpret data using appropriate inferential statistics and predictive modelling approaches to develop insights;

  • Conduct data-mining approach to identify possible factors associated with key human capital aspects and draw meaningful relationships of data points (‘connect the dots’), with the broader business picture in mind;

  • Identify areas of concerns and recommend specific solutions based on insights driven by analytics;

  • Prepare presentation to communicate the analysis and recommendations in a business-friendly approach, with appropriate use of data visualisation tools;

  • Apply strong project management skills to track project progress;

  • Identify areas to further enhance the effectiveness of the people analytics function; and

  • Collaborate with other team members and human capital professionals to provide data-driven insights and solutions to help drive the people strategy and priorities.

Requirements



  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Behavioural Science, or related discipline;

  • At least 5 years of work experience with analytics and insights, preferred within the business/human capital management domain;

  • Extensive hands-on experience with MS Excel and advanced statistical tools (e.g. SPSS, R, SAS, STATA);

  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlikview) and data management system (e.g. SQL) is preferred;

  • Proven track record in building statistics analysis including predictive analytic modelling in a business setting;

  • Proven track record in project management and execution;

  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and ability to work with large volume of quantitative data;

  • Demonstrates strong business acumen to ensure business relevance of the solutions;

  • Demonstrates agility and flexibility to work dynamic environment;

  • Ability to work in a virtual and cross-cultural team;

  • Ability to develop executive-level presentation in a story-telling approach leveraging MS Powerpoint; and

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; Mandarin and/or Cantonese Chinese preferred.
