The Inventory Management Manager will report to the Account Director and be responsible for leading the inventory management team and driving sound inventory management principles into Nationwide China dealerships to achieve KPIs. Further details of the position are provided below:
The role will require close management of retailer profiles, through the accurate creation of bespoke retailer stocking profiles, including the setting of appropriate market reporting values, as agreed with the client and inventory management consultants.
The successful candidate will be required to liaise closely with the retailer network and understand the individual retailers’ requirements, in terms of budget and space, so that the Retailer Inventory Replenishment system profiles are specific to that retailer. There will be a need to develop strong relationships with multiple parties from the UK and China, to agree on a best practice approach for Retailer Inventory Replenishment system management. This may include regular monthly reviews of
progress and system performance, with the client together.
Field support is an essential element of the role and there will be a need for proactive Retailer account management, with retailer site visits part of the role.
Training of Parts Managers to operate and utilise the Retailer Inventory Replenishment system programme effectively is an essential element of the role and this may be done via a variety of different methods, e.g. training event, retailer visit, conference call, or video call.
International travel will be required, so the candidate will need to have a degree of flexibility.
Ensure the foundations of the programme are robust and developed to meet the business and client needs, whilst sharing Best Practice.

Key relationships/interfaces:
i) Establish excellent working relationships and partnerships, based on an open two way communication style, with:
ii) Training: Provide training of the Retailer Inventory Replenishment system so that retailers are fully aware of the functionality, processes and the way the system will be managed both centrally and locally to fully utilise the programme and how to ensure Retailer service and profitability objectives are achieved.
iii) Account Management and Consultancy:
? Monitor and ensure actions are taken to support retailer’s KPI’s are delivered and continually co-ordinate a structured follow up plan to support the Retailer. This will include both face to face visits and Web conference support.
? Visit Retailer premises, meeting with Parts Managers, Aftersales Managers and Retailer Principals as required – to support the retailer in hitting their objectives.
? Document and share to all relevant parties the outputs of all visits and deliver improvement plans to assist the retailer in achieving their objectives.
? Identify and resolve system exceptions, taking long lasting recovery actions
iv) System Maintenance:
? Monitor and co-ordinate all parties to ensure actions are taken to maintain Retailer Inventory Replenishment system functionality, ensuring that everything runs to agreed timescales and quality levels.
? Systems maintenance and data record updates.
v) Inventory Modelling and data analysis:
? Provide accurate inventory modelling to ensure that retailers are maximising their inventory performance.
? Analyse data, presenting findings in a simple and clear fashion to share with recipient of the data.
? Undertake buy back analysis of product to be returned from retailer network, monitoring progress to point of credit. Ensuring all process failures are reported and understood.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor degree or above
- At least 5 years inventory management experience working experience in international company, automotive industry is preferred
- +3 years working experience in manager level
- Ability to lead, solve problems and resolve conflicts
- Proven leadership qualities and communication skills
- Highly organized, have an ability to juggle multiple demands and work in a business environment
- Good command of both spoken and written English
- Familiar with Office Software: Word, Excel, SAP or other ERP is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Organized and disciplined.
