职位描述

Description:
The successful candidate should have a broad knowledge of synthetic and medicinal chemistry and be an accomplished experimentalist in the areas of multi-step organic synthesis, compound purification and characterization. The successful candidate should also have strong problem solving ability, and possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Prior leadership experience in a multi-disciplinary environment is a big plus.

Major Responsibilities:
1) Manage the chemistry staffs;
2) Manage product R&D activities
3) Manage external collaboration and CRO (Contract Research Organization) resources for discovery and process chemistry;
4) Manage drug discovery and development chemistry programs;
5) Design drug molecules, devise synthetic routes, solve synthetic issues, synthesize compounds/compound libraries;
6) Lead efforts from hit generation, hit to lead, lead optimization, all the way through the IND nomination. This requires SAR generation, understanding, and interpretation, ADME and pharmacokinetic (PK) data analysis and PK optimization, etc.
7) Write project reports, draft patent documents, publish scientific results in professional journals, make presentations at internal and external meetings;
8) Maintain knowledge of scientific advances and competitive activity in defined area from literature, scientific meetings and external contacts.
Qualification Requirements:
1) A Ph.D. degree in organic/medicinal chemistry with 3-8 years postdoctoral and industrial experience in organic/medicinal chemistry. A track record of successfully leading drug discovery programs to IND nomination is a strong plus;
2) Prior experience in structure-based drug designs and knowledge of molecular modeling preferred;
3) Familiarity with lead molecule generation and optimization is required;
4) Familiarity with relevant biological disciplines is desirable although not required (e.g., biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology);
5) Experience in designing and synthesizing kinase inhibitors is highly desirable.
6) Strong communication and language skills in both English and Chinese;
7) Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with team members;
8) Ability to manage multiple tasks.
