BASIC FUNCTION

The Sales Director of China company directs and controls all functional elements necessary for the promotion and sale, marketing and distribution of company's current and future division products, specifically relating to the China Sales Market. This executive is responsible for product sales and margins leading to profit optimization as measured by return on sales and return on assets.

This position is the primary interface with the customer base and consequently responsible for constant feedback to the organization concerning its effectiveness in achieving the goal of superior customer service.

The incumbent in this position must aggressively pursue market opportunities to achieve the division goals.
NATURE AND SCOPE

Within the limits of Division and Corporate policy and of authority delegated President of company, the Director of Sales and Marketing exercises primary operational guidance and control over all sales and marketing activities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

? Establish effective short and long-range business strategy, including product sales objectives, in support of the division operating plan.

? Formulate and implement the department's annual operating budget, monitor performance and variance to budget and take action as appropriate to achieve the plan.

? Add or strengthen distribution in market areas where company products do not achieve acceptable market share.

? Understand the market needs and work closely with the VP Engineering to develop new products to position company as a market leader in the products it manufacturers.

? Conduct periodic national and regional sales and distributor meetings.

? Structure and staff the sales and marketing organization through appropriate personnel selection, training and assignment; and working through the proper delegation of responsibility and authority, provide a framework for personal development.

? Function as a key member of the senior division staff to formulate strategy and execute the business plan.

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Sales Director is accountable to the Division President for the fulfillment of his responsibilities and for their proper interpretation. He may delegate to members of his organization appropriate portions of his responsibility together with the commensurate authority for their fulfillment; but he may not relinquish or delegate his overall responsibility for results, nor delegate any portion of his accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The Sales Director should possess:
? Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or other Business related field.
? Ten Years of experience to make him a success in new position.
? Must demonstrate a history of meeting EnPro Core and Supervisory Competencies at a level that would meet or exceed expectations at EnPro.
? Supervisory experience, as well as progressively responsible experience in Sales and Marketing.
? Strong communication skills
? Ability to manage individuals spread out across China
? Global thinker
