Responsibilities
As a technical expert and authority, the Senior/Staff engineer works on architecture and design of firmware for 2G/3G/4G wireless voice and data products. He/she is responsible for creating / reviewing software requirement specification and high level design, implementing some of the key firmware features. Works with multiple functional teams, making sure firmware delivery is comply with customer and marketing requirements; Maintains product compliance matrix based on carrier certification requirements, 3rd party software baselines, as well as marketing/customer requirements; Interfaces with customer engineering teams to provide necessary technical support; Drives firmware group process optimization and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements
? 10+ years' for BS or 8+ years' experience for MS in embedded software development.
? BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. MSEE/MSCS or PhD is preferred.
? Proven track record on cellular handset/modem firmware design at system architect level.
? Previous customer interfacing or carrier RFI/RFP/RFQ answering or requirements specification defining experience.
? Solid experience with at least two of the below three technical areas:
o CDMA 1xRTT, EVDO, GSM, GPRS/EDGE, WCDMA, HSPA, LTE or other cellular technologies.
o RTOS, BSP and device drivers, such as USB, UART, GPIO, I2C, audio, or memory.
o TCP/IP/PPP/MIP/SIP, SMS, or other data protocols.
? 3+ years' experience with Qualcomm MSM/QSC/MDM chipsets, AMSS software development.
? 2+ years' experience with PTCRB/GCF certification and carrier certifications.
? Excellent communication skills. Fluent verbal and written English is an essential.
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
