Overview
This position will be a key contributor to develop the supplier strategy to create a competitive and reliable supply base in China. This position will be closely working with BU personnel and regional CL Metals personnel to develop and implement sourcing strategies. In his/her role, will have to develop the right communication channels and forums with the Business Units to expedite the supplier and material sourcing and implementation process. The position will be responsible for all aspects of supplier development, maintenance and tracking of performance to eliminate potential risk to TE for sourcing of materials.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
The position is responsible for but not limited to the following duties and activities:
1.Visitations to China facilities on a regular basis
2.Auditing of potential new suppliers and maintenance of current suppliers
1.Systems and Laboratory audits
2.Review and follow-up with corrective actions on hold points
3.Sample trials vs. TE specifications
4.Materials engineering approval
3.Supply base management – development, validation and performance tracking
1.Analysis of quality issues with corrective actions
4.Analysis and costing of new materials
5.Lead monthly meetings on TEBIT projects in the A/P region and status
6.Lead monthly meetings on TEBIT projects in the A/P region and status
The position requires the following skills:
?Fluency in English and Chinese and the ability to work with multi-cultural and cross discipline groups
?Knowledge of metal manufacturing and processing
?Background in SPC and 6 sigma practices.
?Ability to speak in front of large audiences with good presentation skills
?Strong leadership skills to drive projects and motivate people
?Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is a requirement
?Knowledge of stamping and plating processes
?Experience in ISO/QS auditing and 8D corrective action procedures
?Project management skills to drive results
?SAP knowledge and reporting is a plus
