Job Summary: Works side by side with Equipment Procurement Leader to deliver individual targets as well as supporting total overall ESS FY targets. Provides the direction for optimum sourcing of the assigned MRO/OEM Spares/Chemical commodities. The candidate being sought will be considered the corporate expert for the assigned commodities and leads the development and implementation of the global and regional supply base strategy to realize established goals and objectives. It is expected that this position will have responsibility to exhibit a high level of expertise in negotiating contracts, including terms and conditions and long term strategic direction that is “sold” as a strategy to internal customers. May be responsible for supervising Supply Base Specialist(s) and any other assigned personnel; including BPO Category Execution team members and spot buy buyers.

Responsibility/Job Complexity: Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. Provides leadership and training to lower level professional employees. Coordinates with other departments. Competent to perform highly complex assignments. Internal and external contacts often pertain to company plans and objectives.

Direction Received: May determine methods and procedures on new assignments, and provide guidance to other personnel.

Required Job Family Skills: Ability to draft standard and custom RFQ/RFI and E-procurement technology with requirements and ability to analyze suppliers' response. Advanced knowledge, i.e. material stocking agreements and liability agreements along with special buying techniques as Last Price Paid contracts, Online ordering discounts and rebates and total landed cost knowledge are a plus to have for ideal candidate. Understanding impact of suppliers' proposed deviations to our standard terms and conditions, recommending responses and/or action plans and minimizing having to include legal until necessary based on approved benchmarks agreed to by this position. Perform quarterly and annual supplier evaluations, monitoring supplier quality, delivery, and conformance to requirements and developing corrective action plans as needed based on evaluation result. Managing implementation of strategies within scope utilizing all resources available and prioritizing tasks in order of meeting customer expectations and activity resulting in a successful outcome. Demonstrated ability to perform cost/price analysis with total cost of ownership as key objective and use the total cost of ownership analysis with supplier/commodity/project strategy decisions. Responsible for meeting savings targets for assigned areas and supporting total ESS targets as joint member of ESS leadership team. Understand the effects of technology innovations, economics and global issues on a specific commodity or product. Understand world economics, taxation issues, and currency impacts. Lead and facilitate internal teams and supplier meetings to all levels of leadership. Lead larger project teams, may be cross-functional, within assigned commodities and have knowledge and understanding of timely execution of escalations internally and externally. Take full ownership and create resolutions to meet requirements with little or no manager involvement. Understanding of KANBAN, JIT, consignment, vending solutions, ECatalog and Info record management a plus.

VERY IMPORTANT – MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN DEVELOPING HIGH SPEND STRATEGIES ($1-2M) FOR A TOTAL SPEND MANAGEMENT OF $60M ACROSS THE ENTIRE AP REGION, LEADING TEAMS BY EXAMPLE, DRIVING IMPLEMENTATION AROUND SUPPLIER CONSOLIDATION, DRIVE OPTIMIZATION OF MATERIALS BEING PROCURED AND SHOULD HAVE GOOD EXPERIENCE IN MANAGING CHANGE AND OBSTACLES THAT MAY INCREASE DIFFICULTY FOR SUCCESS.

SHOULD ALSO HAVE EXPERIENCE IN DEALING WITH RESISTANCE TO CHANGE AND HE/SHE CAN LEAD STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT ACROSS ENTIRE AP REGION INCLUDING CHINA, KR, JP, SG TH ETC.
ENGLISH AND MANDARIN ARE REQUIRED, OTHER LANGUAGES WILL BE BENEFICIAL (JAPANESE, KOREAN).
ABLE TO INFLUENCE AND GAIN CUSTOMER BUY-IN FOR DEPLOYEMENT OF STRATEGIES IS AN ESSENTIAL ELEMENT FOR THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE AND MANAGING A TEAM IN A MATRIX ENVIRONMENT TO UTILIZE ALL RESOURCES TO MEET MINIMUM SUCCESS TARGETS.

Support Cross functional teams i.e. Engineering, materials, Plant Operations, BPO team, etc.
Support and coach employee development
