Responsibilities:

- Work with local and overseas suppliers to prevent quality issues and to seek opportunities for product, process and cost improvements.
- Work with product development and application team on first piece qualification/ NPI products prior buying-off for local application.
- Perform periodic ratings on local suppliers via product & process audits to ensure conformance to Mecano's quality code. Subsequently, to review audit findings to suppliers.
- In the event of non-conformity, to work with suppliers on root cause analysis, containment plan, corrective action and preventive action.
- Management of suppliers on corrective action resolution. To ensure that all agreed corrective action and preventive action are properly executed by suppliers.
- Negotiate with suppliers on claims and compensation issue should it be a manufacturing induced defect.
- Drive suppliers to perform continuous improvements on key areas i.e. product quality, cycle time and lead time, conduct VAVE studies.
- Liaised with factory on Engineering Change Notices (ECN) matters and to ensure the local retro fitment works are carried out prior buying-off.
- Conduct evaluation to qualify new suppliers together with purchasing team.
- Internal auditor for QMS ISO 9001 and EMS ISO 14001.
- Liaised with external labs to perform instrument calibration. To verify calibration results upon completion.



Requirement:

- College degree in a technical/engineering related field, mechanical/ electrical/ materials/ moulding engineering degree is plus
- Minimum of 3 years experience of sourcing/ engineering/ supplier quality in wholly foreign owned enterprise
- Experience in supplier qualification at aluminium die-casting/ plastic injection moulding/ aluminium extrusion etc., mechanical or electrical assistant engineer experience is preferred
- Good communication skill both in English and Chinese
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office software
- Good understanding of ERP system
