Position Description
Performs virology assays tests using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) in Virology department. Position will be responsible for performing negative stain and thin section methods to detect viruses in TEM assays. Most work will require strict adherence to compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and relevant SFDA and other international regulatory regulations as needed, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Under direct supervision, performs studies, completes batch records and other required documentation and performs laboratory maintenance duties according to SOPs. Performs additional Research & Development, or client’s test article testing activities as required.

Position Responsibilities:
? Conducts virology assays based on transmission electron microscopy techniques
? Conducts lab procedures according to and in compliance with GLP, cGMP, FDA guidelines and SOPs.
? Accurately completes batch records and other required documentation according to and in compliance with GLP, cGMP, CFR and Chinese FDA guidelines and SOPs.
? Performs assays using appropriate laboratory techniques for lab group assigned to.
? Reports observations of ongoing tests to Study Director or Laboratory Manager.
? Communicates with supervisor and other colleagues re: daily lab activities.
? Demonstrates proficiency in scientific theory and rigorous practical application in the completion of lab procedures.
? Correctly analyzes scientific data with accuracy and precision.
? Contributes to the preparation and revision of technical documents and reports.
? Completes all requisite training (i.e. Bloodborne Pathogen, Quality Assurance, safety, etc.).

? Position Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree or higher with major in Biological Sciences or science related major or equivalent training and/or experience. Position will depend on experience
o Experience with viruses is highly desirable.
o Experience and knowledge with virology is an advantage, but is not absolutely necessary.
o Experience and knowledge with cell-culture techniques is an advantage, but is not absolutely necessary.
