Job Description Challenges
The main goal for the position is to ensure high quality care for our laboratory dogs in our state of the art animal facility. You will be responsible for taking care of the animals and ensure that the daily care lives up to our high standards for the care and use of experimental animals. You will have a close collaboration with other animal caretakers and our responsible veterinarian.

Your main tasks are performing operational and technical tasks to provide comprehensive care for laboratory dogs, including:
• Daily care including provision of food and water as well as observation, handling and interaction with the animals.
• Cleans and sanitizes the animal enclosures and equipment.
• Examines each animal daily for general health and overall well-being
• Trains, excises, and interacts with dogs.
• Administers preventative treatment and simple medications to animals, including injections of anesthetics, etc., according to veterinarian’s instructions.
• Assists in the receiving and processing of newly arrived animals.
• Checks and maintains the animal identification system.
• Performs dosing and collection of biological specimens (feces, urine, blood specimens) for laboratory research as directed.
• Euthanizes animals according to SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Maintains complete and accurate records. Assists with the implementation of new technologies within care and use of experimental animals.
• Be involved in the work on animal welfare in our laboratories.
• Performs all other related tasks in compliance with SOPs.

你的主要职责是为实验犬的综合护理提供养护和技术方面的工作。工作内容包括:
• 日常护理,包括喂料、喂水以及观察, 处理和与动物交流。
• 负责清洁工作场所和设备。
• 每天观察动物的大体健康和福利。
• 训练犬, 与犬进行交流。
• 在兽医的指导下给予预防性治疗和给药,包括麻醉。
• 协助新进动物的接受和处理。
• 按照标准操作规程实施安乐死。
• 维护完整和准确记录。
• 参与部分动物实验，比如和研究助理及研究员合作进行给药和取集生物样本(血,粪, 尿)。
• 协助实验动物新技术的执行与使用。
• 参与实验动物福利相关的工作。
• 根据SOP进行其它相关工作。

Qualifications
• College diploma or BS in experimental animal science, veterinary medicine, medicine or related biological background.
• More than 0.5 year experience with demonstrated knowledge with handling and taking care of laboratory dogs.
• A high awareness of and interest in animal ethics and animal welfare.
• Flexible attitude towards changing working hours
• You are proactive and able to take responsibility beyond own tasks.
• You are communicating and collaborating in a positive and motivating way, are a good team-player, highly flexible and have a “can-do” approach.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Some command of spoken and written English will be considered an advantage

7． 具备基本书面英语和口语能力
