For these purposes, a new position is open for a highly qualified and motivated senior or principal scientist with expertise within diabetes and obesity biology who plans to advance a career in China.
Diabetes Research China (DRC) is part of Novo Nordisk China R&D centre as an integrated part of Novo Nordisk’s R&D organization and located in Beijing. DRC is responsible for support of diabetes and obesity research projects in the discovery phase. Currently, DRC is composed of three departments, Diabetes Protein Engineering, Diabetes Biology and Pharmacology & Facility. We are a highly motivated and productive team with high standards for our deliveries into the projects. Challenges
We are looking for a research associate with experience in in vivo pharmacology with a focus on rodents. The main responsibility of this position is to assist a PhD-level scientist with laboratory work, documentation and other tasks related to in vivo studies of pharmaceutical reagents. The main goals for the position are to ensure high standard in vivo experimental work. Thus, a lot of your time will be spent in the laboratory, where your tasks will include planning in vivo experiments, processing of data and reporting of results in collaboration with a PhD-level scientist. Furthermore, you will be expected to assist with the implementation of new technologies. You will also be involved in the work on animal welfare in our laboratories and collaboration with our colleagues in Denmark. A high degree of flexibility and the ability to handle several tasks is expected. You will be part of a team in a highly dynamic and challenging environment within the Diabetes Research Unit.

Qualifications
· BS or MS in veterinary medicine, medicine or related biological background.
· 2+ years of laboratory research experience and demonstrated knowledge with hands on laboratory work in the field of in vivo pharmacology. Good surgical skills and experience with diabetic nephropathy or diabetic retinopathy are preferred.
· Interest in animal behaviour and welfare is a must and experience within this field will be preferred.
· Demonstrated knowledge of MS office package and in vivo pharmacology-related software such as Prism,
· Good verbal and written skills in English are important
· You are communicating and collaborating in a positive and motivating way, a good team-player, highly flexible and have a “can-do” approach.
· Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously,
· You are proactive and able to take responsibility beyond own tasks,
