SUMMARY

-The role focuses on the full spectrum of Ocean Freight procurement for Developing Markets, being a satellite of the Global Ocean and Air Freight Procurement Team based in PL, Nowy Dwor, reporting to AMS HQ.

-The role of the Senior Buyer – Ocean Freight DVM is to drive cost savings and service improvement, getting alignment with stakeholders for combined spend of over ￡20 million.

-The role will utilize spend analytics, sourcing management processes and tools to develop category strategies, rationalize and select suppliers, manage key supplier relationships, as well as negotiate contract pricing, terms and conditions, assess continuity of business.

SCOPE/DIMENSIONS OF ROLE

-Responsible for Ocean Freight in DVM that is sourced in globally bids. Working on a cross functional basis with the Supply Services and Finance Organisation.

-Entitled to present and decide or get approval for procurement strategies and contracting terms. Takes relevant decisions when conducting sourcing processes regardless of total spend.

-The position has a direct impact on corporate measurements and results such as GM and NWC.

-Developing world-class suppliers that can offer perfect service will also impact top line growth.

-Responsible for the development and maintenance of a supplier base that can generate competitive advantage.

-Cost, quality & service, innovation, speed to market, fast roll-out and net working capital improvement are the most important business needs with different focus and prioritisation in the managed portfolio.

-It also includes preparing proposal for budgeting process for the managed portfolio in alignment with Finance and Budget owners.

-Management of Quarterly Supplier Scorecard under this role is a key driver in improvement of Provider service level.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

-Develops and drives implementation of regional sourcing strategies.

-Works closely with Supply Services and Manufacturing organisations in understanding needs, objectives and priorities to optimise total cost, quality and service.

-Collaborates with key stakeholders and works cross-functionally in developing and executing sound sourcing strategies in partnership with stakeholders.

-Establishes relationships with supply base and implements supplier management strategies. Motivates suppliers to treat the company as preferred customer in presenting innovation and/or cost/efficiency projects

-Becomes a key member of central procurement team that will drive sustained performance and improve procurement effectiveness.

-Accountable to continuously improve supplier performance including service and quality.

-Prepares budget assumptions for Ocean DVM portfolio in line with Global Strategies and Global assumptions.

-Monitors and identifies risks and opportunities involved in each sourcing process. Push the organisation to move towards opportunities adopting creative solutions.

-Acts to continuously deliver GM improvement.

KEY CHALLENGES

-The candidate is expected to achieve significant bottom line cost savings in line with Supercharge objectives and drive NWC capital improvement by negotiation of payment terms.

-Optimisation of cost while maintaining high service levels

-Position required to work remotely with multiple geographies and with remote management.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE

-Proven expertise, within Supply or//and Procurement, ideally with exposure across ocean freight.

-Degree qualified preferably in Procurement, Finance, Business or other relevant discipline.

-Ability to work in a truly global organisation. Proven experience in working in a fast moving and result driven environment which demands to work under pressure.

-High degree of fluency of English is required for negotiations and internal communications. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.

-Good understanding of excel
