The principal engineer shall be expert of generic hardware platform design and AMI terminal delivery with extensive knowledge in the field of communications in smart electricity metering applications. This high-ranked role will have a strong emphasis on designing modular communication hardware and terminal systems for smart electricity metering solution and adjacent applications with a future-focused mindset based on internal and external customer voices.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to play a global lead role in a very dynamic, fast pace and expanding hardware design team. The position is ideally suited for a motivated individual who is energetic, takes initiative and has a deep understanding of mechatronics product development and agile system engineering. You will need to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as being able to support build a high-performance and global team in Eastern Europe & China.

Responsibilities：

1.Delivers standalone or embedded communication modules for smart electricity meters, as well as unattended integral terminals for AMI solutions meet market needs, applicable regulatory and industry standards；

2.Provides technology leadership in terms of hands-on electronics/electrical design, design reviews and solution projections during new product developing, continue engineering and value engineering；

3. Defines best cost performance optimized hardware platforms for identified customer scenarios applying modular design methodology and industry cutting-edge technologies；

4.Reports pertinent information regularly on team or project status through clear spoken and written communications；

5.Supports to build up core competencies of electronics/electrical design team aligning with business needs, manage and coach intermediate engineers.

Key Accountabilities

1.Creates, customizes or adopts communication hardware platforms highly probably together with strategic and leading partners of the industry；

2.Produces accurate electronics/electrical design data including, but not limited to, specifications, manuals, schematics, bills of materials, costing, source codes, mechanical drawings, engineering instructions, illustrations, test procedures, etc.

3.Works closely with product development team from conception to production to make sure platform compliance, quality consistency and core brand equity, providing needed technical guidance and trainings；

4.Lead/coordinate with cross functional teams to identify cost opportunities

Supports design reviews, both customer and internal as required；

5.Identifies and analyzes EE design problems to achieve optimal solutions that satisfy cost and technical requirements；

6.Works with testing team to develop and implement appropriate test processes, tools and procedures. Reviews and approves test reports；

7.Participates in project planning and meets committed timelines；

8.Defines or tailors design processes and working flows involving other departments to ensure designs are high quality while still practical to manufacture and cost effective；

9.Ensure all technical deliverables well documented and managed；

Specific Skills / Background Required:

特定技能/背景要求

1. Master or Bachelor degree in Electronics Engineering or related

2. 8+ years experiences of full lifecycle industrial electronics product development applying platform and modular designs；

3. Solid knowledge of Microcontrollers & Processors (8/16/32-bit incl. ARM & DSPs), FPGA/CPLD, Digital/Analog/Power electronics and circuits；

4. In-depth understanding of mainstream metering communication technologies like Prime PLC, G3PLC, Wi-Sun, LoRaWAN, NB-IOT, M-bus, GPRS/2G/3G/LTE, RF Mesh/BLE/Zigbee, WiFi, Serial communications (devices & modules)；

5. Proficient in PCB design, layout & debug, expert with tools like Altium Designer；

6. Experienced in EMC testing & compliance, reliability design & verification, automated testing, as well as using standard testing equipment like laboratory spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, etc；

7. Knowledge of smart electricity meter related IEC standards, regulations or certifications is a big plus；

8. Excellent analytical and diagnosis skills with a common sense approach to problem solving；

9. Good command of spoken and written English；

10. Team player with demonstrated commitment to growth and continuous improvement. Willingness to change and Can-Do attitude.

• 熟练掌握智能电表相关的IEC标准，法规或认证的相关知识;
• 出色的分析和判断能力，具有解决问题的能力;
• 良好的英语听说读写能力;
