ROLE SUMMARY

Pfizer CentreOne (PC1) is a global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) embedded within Pfizer generating $800M+ in revenue. We leverage strategic Pfizer manufacturing plants as well as science and technology resources to manufacture medicine for biopharmaceutical companies. We focus on custom API synthesis, sterile injectable fill-finish and highly potent oral solid dose; and are a leading supplier of steroid and hormone APIs and intermediates. For almost 50 years, we’ve manufactured complex compounds for our biopharmaceutical partners. Our dedicated team of contract manufacturing experts guide our partners’ drugs safely from development (phase 2 or later) through commercialization. Pfizer CentreOne also has a Corporate Sponsored Agreements team that manages trailing manufacturing supply agreements related to Pfizer M&A, licensing, divestitures; M&A activity could include animal health, infusion therapy, generic pharmaceuticals. Pfizer CentreOne reports into the Hospital Business within Pfizer Innovative Medicines.

Reporting to the Custom Business China Lead, the China BD (Senior) Manager will initially be responsible for developing the Hangzhou business pipeline through new opportunity identification, deal due diligence, proposal development, contract negotiation, internal consultation with manufacturing, R&D, regulatory, supply chain, contract execution and project management.  This role will contribute to define and drive the next phase of growth and optimize short, medium and long-term PC1 strategies in China for the existing Hangzhou Site .

This role will work closely with other PC1 business areas, Pfizer China and various PGS sites in China.

You will also develop knowledge of Pfizer’s complex manufacturing network, the CDMO competitive environment, the art of “getting things done” in a large organization, Pfizer’s broader goals and the interconnectedness of PC1 objectives.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Pfizer CentreOne Custom Business, China BD(Senior) Managerhas accountability for PC1 pipeline development and project management.

Generate sales leads and monitor competitive landscape within contract development and manufacture community in China

Primary point of contact for client site visit

Coordinate with site for feasibility evaluation for new PC1 opportunities resulting in go/no go decisions at Hangzhou site

Build relationships with key functional leaders responsible for delivering development and manufacturing services offered and engage their support of new business opportunities.

Achieve revenue budget based on the annual planning

Support line manager for business insights and strategy in support of marketing activities, content or materials that will drive brand awareness and help increase customer leads

Liaise and align with PGS (Sites, Quality Assurance, etc.), Research & Development, and Regulatory Affairs to accomplish business objectives

Own and manage the iNexus process for potential opportunities.

This is a role which requires comprehensive knowledge and skills. The demands of the role require a candidate who possesses the following:

Experience:

8+ years of successful commercial, business development “Business to Business” or relevant experience

Knowledge of medicine development and manufacture process

Strong project management skills and rich experience

Good communication and engagement skills

Knowledge of the Chinese Biopharmaceutical market

Learning agility and an understanding of manufacturing processes

Ability to work and be successful in a matrixed environment with a high degree of flexibility

Fluency in Chinese and English

Education: 

BA/BS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS in Bio-Chemistry, Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related technical discipline

MBA or advanced degree

Operational experience/exposure
