Position: Technology Standardization Engineer (Metal Material & Surface Treatment)

Line Manager: Technology Standardization Management (Asia Pacific Region)

Location: Shanghai

Description of Position:

Technology Standardization Management (TSM) is a global technology experts team in Schneider Electric, locates in 3 regions (Asia Pacific Region, North America Region, Europe Region). TSM is in charge of Technology Standardization on Component and Raw Material technology for global Schneider Electric.

The Technology Standardization Engineer (TSE) will join the TSM (Asia Pacific region) Business Support Team，this engineer will take charge of the metal material, surface treatment & thermal treatment etc related technology .

The engineer will work closely with other colleagues in other regions on Technology Standardization Rule Definition and promotion for Schneider Electric worldwide. The engineer will mainly support the R&D Project Team, Purchasing Team etc in Asia Pacific region (China, Singapore, Australia, India, Japan, etc)

According to business need, the engineer may participate to national or international travels in Schneider R&D centers, Manufacturing plants or Suppliers.

Responsibilities:

1. Participate the Technology Standardization Rule Definition and Evolution for global Schneider Electric.; Promote Technology Standardization Rule, Technical rules and best practices by daily technical support, writing design guidelines / directives or making presentation among Schneider Electric entities
2. Provide technical support to Asia-Pacific R&D site for the metal material & surface treatment & Thermal Treatment selection, design application, quality issue and risk analysis etc, furthermore propose risk mitigation plan, alternative solution etc.
3. Follow the evolutions of metal material standard evolution in AS region; Investigate supplier roadmap and technology trend in the global market; Prospect and identify new solutions for Schneider Electronic product design.
4. Cooperate with Global Supply Chain Commodity Team and Contribute to the definition of the global purchasing strategy
5. Manage the Corporate level Standardized Component & Raw Material Database to present technology offer.

Requirements

1. Educational Background: Bachelor Degree or above majoring in Material Science and Engineering , Metal Material Processing, Metallurgy etc
2. Bachelor with 5+ years or Master with 3+ years of successful experience as Metal Material Researcher, Metal Material Engineer etc
3. Solid knowledge of Metal (Ferrous, copper, aluminum, alloy etc) ,Surface treatment(Electrolyzed Plating, Painting etc), Thermal Treatment;
4. Solid knowledge on design application requirement to different metal material and treatment.
5. Solid Knowledge of the worldwide market, suppliers and technology trend
6. International experience is preferred (study or work experience abroad)
7. Excellent communications skills, including written and spoken English
8. Customer Oriented, Committed to Quality
9. Pro-active to achieve objectives; Take initiative to implement team mission.
