Description
The mission of Research Area Packet Technologies within Ericsson Research is to provide business segments within Ericsson with state of the art competence in areas of strategic importance in order to secure long term product provision. The areas in focus are (i) Network Features, (ii) IP Infrastructure, and (iii) Cloud.
Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, the research area have groups in six different locations over the world; Montreal, Stockholm, Helsinki, Budapest, San José and Beijing. Apart from this, the research area cooperates with Business Units and Design Units in those and other parts of the world.


Responsibilities
Participate in research projects in the area of IP, mobile Packet Networks, and Internet of Things technologies
Perform and lead prototyping implementation activities.
Monitor and analyze technology and business trends and contribute to strategies for development of new technologies
Conduct technical studies to be used as input for strategic decisions
Define use cases, system logic and solution architecture.
Secure IPR by actively working with patents in the projects
Transfer know-how and results achieved in the projects by writing reports, seminars, etc
Contribute to customer meetings in China in relevant areas



Qualifications

Mandatory qualifications:
Master degree or above with a major in information technology, computer science, or related disciplines
Knowledge in 3GPP Packet Core area, or mobile network architectures, and/or deep knowledge in TCP/IP networking
Experience in development under Linux and/or embedded operating system
Programming experience in C/C++. Experience in Java and script language is beneficial. Knowledge in leading prototyping development.
Excellent ability to learn and understand new technologies
Very strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills
Self-driven, self-organizing and structured.
Fluent in English and Chinese languages, both oral and written.
Very good communicating as well as networking skills


Preferred qualifications:
Experience from network product development
Experience from writing patents
Experience from working in large organizations spanning several countries, continents and cultures
