Role Name: Fabric Manager Reports to: Merchandising Director
Direct Reports: 2
Total Reports: 2

Responsible for all the aspects of fabric related matters, sourcing, production and quality management.
? Sourcing - Develop the right quality to meet designers' needs.
? Production - Help on color approval, bulk approval and bulk delivery.
? Quality - Ensure the fabric can pass the customers' testing requirements, sample yardage is in correct quality, handfeel and color. Bulk fabrics are met inspection standards.

Mill sourcing strategy
? Source the right fabric mills
? Visit the mills and proactively offer the trendy collection of fabric to all divisions
? Keep training new suppliers to understand company's fabric requirement on quality, production leadtime and price structure etc.

Mill base management
? Manage existing mills on price level
? Manage quality control and risk assessment on existing mills

Fabric development
? Responsible for mill’s product development to drive business
? Responsible to increase the business % on China local sourcing
? Responsible to source from garment suppliers’ trend fabric and move % of business to vendor own sourcing
? Maintain good awareness of market (competitor, product, technology) and communicate effectively.

Follow up and day-to-day business
? Negotiate the fabric price based on quantity levels
? Negotiate the payment terms to benefit the company's interest
? Daily problem solver for quality issue in both production & development
? Analysis mill assessment with quality issues review to improve the supplier chain
? Fabric fair participation with store visit for better trend understanding

People and talent management
? Recruit new team member
? Plan and conduction induction for new employees
? Keep training team member and upgrade their fabric knowledge, capability of problem solving and mind set


? Business 30/70% on Import and Local sourcing
? Business 10% increase on vendor own sourcing
? Bulk Fabric cancellation & claim 5% with Quality control on Local source fabric

Essential
? Minimum 8 years Fabric Sourcing and development experience in a commercial (trading or retail sourcing office) apparel environment
? Minimum of 5 years management role
? Proven knowledge and experience of China for fashion ladies wear
? Excellent English both written and oral
