MelchersRaffel has access to broad sector expertise through its consulting experience and the operative business development experience from the Melchers-Organisation. These branches range from technology and investment goods (e.g. machines) to IT (hardware and software), industrial goods (e.g. building products, chemical goods, supplier goods), consumer goods (e.g. furniture, groceries, sports products, toys, fashion, domestic products) up to luxury goods (e.g. watches, jewelry, fashion, accessories). Melchers is an international trading organisation with over 150 years of experience in the development of corporate success in China and other countries in Asia. It has more than 1,700 employees in over 25 locations in Asia.
Basic Responsibilities of the Analyst
? Supporting the advisory on international strategy projects for Asian and European clients especially in technical B2B industries. Experiences in consumer industries of benefit
? Analysis work in all phases of a strategy project like market and competitor analysis, customer analysis, primary research (customer interviews), desk research, development of strategic options and valuation in plan P&L and balance sheet, development and implementation of action plans, etc.
? Analysis in all phases of a M&A project like identification of potential acquisition targets, anonymous first contact, confidentiality agreement, due diligence, structuring the integration concept, trial monitoring, coordination of due diligence, and finally, post-acquisition integration. For sell-side mandates, investors from Asia have to be attracted
? Supporting in marketing initiatives (e.g. preparation of client presentations, PR, marketing programmes).
Qualifications required
Ability to conduct independent strategic thinking and analysis. Very strong intellectual and interpersonal capability. Initiator and self-discipline.
Work experience required
1 to 3 years of relevant strategy experience with a renowned consulting firm, investment house or industrial company.
Educational background requirements
Strong undergraduate degree, for instance of mechanical engineering, technology background with focus in corporate finance.
Language requirements
Fluent Mandarin. Fluent in English for business purposes, both written and spoken. Additional German capabilities desirable.
