The Position
the Title: Account Manager
Reports to: Area Sales Manager – Savoury , Great China
Indirect reports: Commercial Assistant, application lab technical specialist
Purpose of the job
1. To support ASM to develop and implement Sales and Marketing Plan for DFS Savoury Ingredients to achieve sustainable growth of Savoury Ingredients Business in China.
2. To achieve sales objectives for Savoury local and key accounts in Food Industry Product range.
3. To support ASM to growth global / regional key accounts business.
4. To organize and supports distributors, make sure accurate and well structured market information is received and managed appropriately.

1. Together with DFS China team make action plans to achieve DFS Savoury in China objectives

5. Managing interfaces with existing Marketing and Sales channels.
The Challenge
1. Sales plan and execution
Delivers input to the development of the regional sales plan. Realizes sales according to budget/plan, related to volume, price, margin, products and customers. Negotiates prices and payment conditions within OTC policy and above the set (minimum) target prices.
2. Account plans
Develops account plans for own portfolio of customers (A&B accounts), , according to DFS format and executes these plans, in order to realize to budgeted turn over and margin.
3. Sales contracts and follow up
4. Prepares and maintains sales contracts and coordinates with CSD of order confirmation, shipment and signing. Takes care of complete and timely invoicing and the dunning procedures Coordinates actions to minimize overdues, bad debts and days of sales outstanding, based on information of the Shared Financial Service Center.
5. Relationship/account management
Builds and maintains strong relationships with customers and operates as the face of DFS towards the customer. Build relationships at all levels in the client organization.
6. (Global) Key account management (when applicable)
Takes part in (global) key account team. Delivers input to the key account plan and ensures that agreements in plan are locally carried out.
7. Product launches
Supports market development managers with product introductions to new customers. Is responsible for new product introductions to existing customers
8. Interaction with internal organization
Operates as the eyes and ears of the organization. Provides input to the internal organization (business industry management, marketing, product management, application development) in order to optimize the product portfolio, customer satisfaction (incl complaint handling) and applications to customers. Provides other specific information to the internal organizational on request (e.g. sales forecasts).
9. Scanning business opportunities & innovation
Monitors and shares competitive and customer developments, new applications and new products. Supports DFS innovation by scanning for business opportunities in the market and initiate customized application development.
10. Data management and reporting
Ensures up to date data related to own customers (in CRM/ CDM system). Provides sales and customers reports according to set standards and timing
The Ideal
Experience and educational level
1. Bachelor degree or above in Food
2. Knowledge of savoury food industry and markets
3. Communication and negotiation skills
Required level of experiences
1. More than 5-10 years related experience in sales in savory Foods Ingredients business
2. Have good connections with China savoury industry
3. Teamwork, problem solving, initiative, willing to learn, performance motivation.
4. Good communication skills both in English and Chinese
