Responsibilities:
- Work on all levels of features development for EA Pogo.com, a complex, multi-tier distributed online gaming site, including architecture improvements, backend DB layer communication and Web UI development
- Work with product managers/producers to define project scopes; work with development director to deliver projects, including technical design, coding, unit testing, QA support, release support and maintenance
- Collaborate with other engineers, producers, artists, QAs to provide in time and quality technical feedback in the whole software development life cycle
- Active contributions to technical reviews for features projects developed in Pogo
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure high technical quality
- Provide technical leadership and innovation for the team
- Support production issues when necessary

Qualifications:
To qualify for this job, the candidate MUST have:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in hands-on engineering including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing and maintenance for large enterprise applications
- At least 2 years of experience developing Java web application and backend services required
- Familiar with cloud compute such as AWS and GAE
- Self-motivated, overcomes obstacles independently, strong work ethic, hits deadlines without supervision; excellent time management, juggles many priorities correctly, and ability to assess risk and act accordingly, predicts/notices issues early
- Picks up new, complicated, abstract concepts quickly and feel very comfortable to work on complex systems
- Multithreaded and distributed application development experience.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science required
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and object oriented design principles
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Chinese
- Flexible work schedule since communication with international teams is required
