Position Title: Senior PR Manager
Report to: Brand Communication Senior Director
Location: Shanghai
Mission:
The mission of the Senior PR Manager is to build the company as the best sports brand in China through maximizing brand and product exposure and positive free publicity by recommending, planning and executing public relations initiatives and brand events.
KEY Responsibilities:
Planning
? Pro-actively develops and recommends PR strategies and its derived programs to the Brand Communication Director, according to the marketing plan.
? Creates comprehensive action plans that maximize publicity of our global and local sponsored athletes and teams to provide the authentic link to our technical product ranges.
? Creates comprehensive action plans for all brand events, trade fairs and trade meetings.
? Creates comprehensive action plans that support all Communications concepts with the aim to maximize brand and (new) product exposure while maximizing efficiencies.
? Creates comprehensive action plans that maximize relationships with relevant government and sports departments, and that maximize perception of our good corporate citizenship.
? Proactively works with Sports Marketing and the Brand Communications teams in supporting all their activities with aim to position the brand as set out in our objectives.
? Remains up to date on the fast developing media environment.
? Identifies communication opportunities, as well as opportunities for co-ops & co-branding.
Management
? Manages execution of all PR related activities.
? Manages and tracks issues and crises that impact the brand and corporate reputation and develops strategic responses including creation of key messages and identification and training of spokespeople.
? Implements monthly China PR Summary that recaps recent events, communicates the marketing status, and informs and engages all levels of employees, and includes article clippings. Additionally, he/she is expected to create internal PR programs to create exciting motivation among staffs and generate best support from other functions.
? Manages sourcing of all (locally produced) PR material at the lowest price while still maintaining good quality and standards
? Assumes responsibility for the (legally) correct usage of the trademarks and logos
? Sources, establishes strong relationships and manages day-to-day activities within the media industry and with relevant agency partners and (media) vendors that will ultimately allow the company to more effectively and efficiently communicate our core messages.
? Establishes strong relationships with relevant authorities.
? Proactively directs the PR team to create the most innovative and creative ideas.
? Takes the lead in PR agency development/project briefing/agency training/evaluation to maximize quality service provision by the agencies.
Financial
? Follows, maximizes and controls the PR budgets as set according to the marketing plan.
? Suggests future PR budgets.
? Negotiates and develops quotations with vendors by setting clear objectives and expectations.
? Evaluates and recommends pricing levels for all PR purchases.
System and Processes
? Implements quality control systems for production of all materials containing the logo
? Co-ordinates all launches of relevant material with the Communications and Product marketing team and Sales department.
? Establishes and maintains system to track and restock inventories for all related materials.
? Post-evaluates campaign performance by conducting or coordinating research and tracking project development, and then collating results into regular quality reports.
? Is responsible for on-time and accurate provision of Commitment and Payment requests related to all PR related projects.
? Fully optimizes integration with other Communications disciplines such Brand Communication and Creative Services.
Job Requirements:

? Strong network with media or sports leagues
Knowledge / Experience
? Minimum of 8-10 years hands-on experience in the PR dept. of a multinational or with an agency.
? Previous experience in Communications or PR in China
? Previous experience with Media in China
? Extensive experience in writing and editing for print and multi-media formats
? Knowledgeable about China sports and international sports. An interest and desire to participate in and learn about sports i.e. a sports enthusiast.
? Experience as company spokesperson an asset.
Educational Background
? University degree or above, preferably in a Communications related field.
PC/Language/Other Skills
? Excellent written Mandarin Chinese. Able to write / review PR releases
? Excellent presentation and organizational skills
? Excellent English
? Working knowledge of Microsoft products
