Summary
Provide supports to the VP – China Region in the areas of project coordination, government affairs, customer relations and other areas needed by the position.

Duties and Responsibilities

?Business Development
-Help in building and managing a business development team in China and in developing professional staff through training, development, management of work activities, and performance reviews.
-Identifying business growth opportunities and facilitate their development
-Help the VP in the process of Identifying, evaluating, negotiating and managing the most complex or strategically important business opportunities, for example sales, projects, consulting engagements, partnerships, alliances, mergers, or acquisitions that will contribute to the organization’s short and long-term business goals.
-Evaluate the findings of market research or analysis projects, assess the viability of alternative opportunities, and present recommendations to top executives or the Board.
-Establish relationships with potential clients, customers, partners, key decision-makers, and industry leaders (for example in government or industry associations) to promote the organization’s products and services.

?Customer and Project Coordination:
-Advance projects by serving as the liaison between China MD and customers
-Keep track of industry trend and provide inputs to monthly/ weekly reports
-Assist in manage complex contract negotiation and working with legal counsel as required for business initiatives in China. Following up to ensure business deliver on commitments to customers in the areas of schedule, quality and service responsiveness in various projects
-Observes formal internal project reviews to provide customer feedback and influence delivery priorities
-Formally track customer commercial communications, information transmittals, records retention, export control and intellectual property compliance
-Develop and foster customer relationships and expand customer relationships to include key product personnel
-Communicate product/service value proposition to the customer
-Works with the VP/MD/Key Account Executive to provide dedicated interface to a customer or set of customers – from opportunity through project closeout
-Represents W for project related delivery and should be seen by the customer empowered to ensure successful project delivery
-Capturing the voice of the customer, understanding business and strategic objectives and communicates market and product intelligence and customer
-Close collaboration with Market Application to link customer opportunities with integrated portfolio of products (services, automation and fuel) to operating plant customers
-Account-wide perspective to ensure that contractual commitments are fulfilled and that projects are implemented satisfactorily
-Maintaining regular communication with customer to assess health of integrated project delivery and collect targeted feedback
-Lead, direct, and control all business development activities to meet the organization’s short and long-term business objectives.


?Government Affairs:
-Improve and sustain relationship with China NEA and US Embassy (DOE, ESTH, DOC…)
-Assist in improving Westinghouse’s long term relationships with central and local authorities, as well as key partners and major customers
-Arrange NEA’s US visit (one trip in every two months)
-Keep track of government policy move and analyze potential impacts
-Participate ECP activities

?Customer Relations:
-Develop and maintain good relationship with customers
-Assist sales team to explore business opportunity
-Arrange customer’s US visit (for example, CHNG’s US visit in May)
-Arrange US customers’ China visit (for example, SCANA executives’ China visit in last Dec.)

?Administration:
-Plan and schedule meetings, teleconferences, and travel
-Coordinate with offshore & onshore team to arrange executives’ China visit (for example, Danny’s visit in April)
-Process China MD’s corporate card/cash expense reimbursement

?Interpretation & Translation:
-Serve as interpreter for meetings
-Translate and review bilingual documents, such as meeting minutes, official letters, presentations, etc.

Requirements
?Good communications skills in both delivering external and internal messages, and in influencing internal decision-making processes;
?Ability to Interface with senior management, other Westinghouse unit personnel, customer executives and high-ranking industry officials;
?Assertiveness while negotiating and executing large, complex projects that require cooperation of multiple organizations;
?Knowledgeable in technical, commercial and strategic disciplines, while persuading, negotiating and selling new or unconventional concepts in order to achieve desired goal;
?Ability to participate in complex information sharing with internal and external customers, including delivery of presentation material;
?English proficient; good at written, oral English and translation. Good computer skills, in particular in Microsoft office system; knowledge about web operation a plus
?Proven business acumen sufficient to recognize opportunities, and develop strategies
?Leadership skills appropriate to a consensus building organization where “buy in,” alignment, kaizen, and being in team mode are constants
?Extensive large project/operations leadership experience
?An undergraduate technical degree related to power; an understanding of electricity and power generation
?Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the power generation industry in China
?Previous governmental negotiation experience at the GM/VP level of PRC state entities
?20+ years experience in power generation, 10 years plus of business development, marketing, and/or sales experience.
?Western MNC career history
?Mandarin + English language skills
