Position: Database Administrator(IT Database Specialist)

Position Summary:
MySQL& MS-SQL Server DBA role at Altium largely is responsible for providing operational database services for Altium's and Altium's customers' online applications. The primary responsibilities of this role is to own and manage all aspects of database administrations, trouble shooting, optimisation, load planning, testing and backup tasks for all the databases that Altium is using or responsible for.

Tasks and Activities
- Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for the databases.
- Monitor database events and proactively optimise system performance.
- Perform health checks to ensure the integrity of the schema and the data.
- Perform health checks to ensure the synchronization of database replicas.
- Liaise with other infrastructure teams to resolve complex application performance analysis.
- Develop and maintain the appropriate operational documentation for databases.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Strong knowledge and experience in MySQL& MS-SQL Database Administration in both Linux and Windows environment.
- 3+ years experience working with MySQL& MS-SQL.
- knowledge of how indexes can be created or stored and managed effectively.
- Intermediate to expert knowledge about server hardware infrastructure and operating systems.
- Knowledge and experience in scripting and database query skills.
- Knowledge and experience in database backup and restore strategies and disaster recovery planning and implemetation.
- Knowledge and experience in clusters and high availability technologies.

Qualifications & Certifications
DBA's will often hold certifications for specific database software programs. MySQL Certification, Database Certification or an equivalent would be highly desirable.
