Job Title Account Director
Reports to General Manager
Notes: For this role, we need at least 8 years work experience in PR area
Responsibilities
1 Communication Plan Development
- Receiving client brief, considering alternative solutions, formulating plan and proposing response to client
2 Campaign Planning
- Indentifying stories, developing key messages, selecting key media, scheduling key dates
- Project managing process
3 Implementation
- Writing & translating PRs/articles/marketing communications, developing media lists, pitching stories to key media and following up to maximise coverage
- Managing press conferences, arranging and facilitating interviews & press tours
- Working within agreed client budgets and internal cost budgets
- Reporting back to client with analysis of results achieved
4 Client Interface Management
- Liaising on a day-to-day basis with clients, reacting to client needs and proactively indentifying opportunities
- Building and strengthening the client relationship, developing the commercial account
5 Media Networking
- Developing and maintaining close relations with key media editors and journalists
- Researching and monitoring media opportunities for client exposure
6 Supplier Dealings
- Liaising with specialist suppliers, ensuring time/cost/quality requirements are achieved
7 Staff Supervision
- Supervising day-to-day activities of Account Manager/Executive
- Mentoring, training & developing other staff as required
8 Business Developments
- Contributing to new account acquisition activities
9 Projects
- Undertaking special projects as required by the General Manager

3 Education
- Graduate with higher level honours degree from good university in either relevant science or business subjects.
- Probably with post-graduate qualification in relevant subject, such as journalism, marketing communications
4 Experience
- Minimum of 8 years directly relevant experience with a commercial (and preferably international) organisation, either on client or agency side of the media relations business, or possibly with a media operator
- Must be able to demonstrate experience of the media and understanding of the way the media work
5 Base Skills
- Numerate, IT Literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access), articulate, analytic
- Well developed self-starting, self-management and inter-personal skills
- Supervisory & training skills
6 Language Skills
- Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English, with clearly demonstrable translation skills
7 Job Skills Copywriting
- Ability to pitch stories
