Gram Equipment is a Danish world-leading manufacturer of equipment for industrial ice cream production. With an extensive global network of subsidiary companies, agents, Sales & Service offices and 310 employees worldwide, Gram Equipment provides manufacturers of ice cream and other food products the best possible basis for meeting consumer demands.
As part of their growth strategy, Gram Equipment is looking to set up a Business Unit in Shanghai, China, in order to take advantage of the growth potential in the market. To meet their ambitious sales targets, the company is seeking a mature and experienced individual who is willing to join their team for the long run as:
Country Manager China (Sales focused)
Location: Shanghai
Reporting directly to: Cluster Manager Asia (based in Europe)
Major Duties & Responsibilities
? As one of the first employees in China, lead the set-up process of the China office (focus on Sales and Business Development) with the support of HQ;
? Build and develop own sales and service team step by step, cultivate the team spirit in line with the company culture and lead the team to achieve sales targets in the Greater China market;
? Cooperate with the Global Sales Department to develop new distributors and local customers in China;
? Work together with already existing distributors to plan activities to increase sales in China;
? Set and break down targets, and advise HQ on strategy for the China market;
? Develop customer relationships through regular visits and communication, independently and together with other team members;
? Coordinate marketing activities (such as market research) and attend specialized exhibitions and fairs to scout potential clients;
? Handle regular reporting to HQ on a weekly and monthly basis.
Qualifications
? Educational background in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
? 10+ years of technical / solution sales working experience with proven track record in China;
? Experience in food process industry or dairy industry will be an advantage;
? Familiar with Scandinavian culture / mindset or have a strong desire to work for Nordic companies in China will be a plus;
? Strong spoken and written communication skills in English and Mandarin;
? Willing to take own initiatives and work independently;
? Very goal oriented, with focus on short and long term targets;
? Team oriented with good abilities in cooperation;
? Excellent presentation and negotiation skills;
? Skilled at managing relationships with different stakeholders;
? Hands-on, able to work independently and mature in dealing with stressful situations;
? Available to travel extensively in China.
