Job Title: Program Manager - Video
Reports to : Video & Transmission Engineering Site Manager


Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
We are seeking Program Managers who can lead and drive the development of our Video NPIs as part of the Video and Transmission Team. Successful candidates will provide Program Management in a matrix environment with extended teams in US, Asia, Europe and ASIA for large scope and/or complex NPI (New Product Introduction) programs.

This Program Manager will be accountable for customer satisfaction which includes program P&L responsibility, quality, and schedule. There will be close coordination with engineering, finance, contracts, quality, procurement, and suppliers. This position is a leadership position in ACE application, including standard work, EVMS, passport, and any other applicable ACE tools. Coordinating certification and qualification testing for new systems is another important requirement.


Duties & Responsibilities
Project management: Responsible for project execution, schedule and budget. A conduit between all the functions that contribute to the successful execution of NPI's.
Translates purpose and vision into clear NPI goals and works with team to define and document scope.
Develops and maintains project plan, including schedules, budget and internal/external resources utilizing standard PM software.
Responsible for cross-functional activities to ensure all organizations are involved early and often, such as Supply Chain/Manufacturing, Marketing, Tech Pubs, Customer Support, Test, Development, etc.
Manages and conducts Programs utilizing the NPI Tollgate Process and ensure products meet all CTQs including productivity, performance, reliability, COE and cost targets.
Assist team members in planning, estimating, and controlling tasks. Ensures that interfaces are recognized and are integrated in the plan.
Manages vendor deliverables, commitments, and milestone completion.
Performs critical path analysis and develops action plans to mitigate risk.
Effectively manages stakeholder communication.
Responsible for team communication, status meetings, and reviews. Creates a collaborative, fast-paced and quality oriented environment.
Implement configuration controls, design quality metrics, value engineering and project risk management, and participate in simplifying processes.
Assist creating a common vision/architecture to leverage the latest generation of technology while providing a migration path for existing product lines.
Work with other parts of UTC to drive technology sharing and leveraging the best that UTC has to offer for each product line.
Drive measurable goals for technical product performance (including cost and quality) through direct involvement in establishing customer and system requirements.  Meet with customers (externally and internally with the sales and marketing team) and translate the customer's requirements into product system requirements.
Lead verification of product design against the system requirements.  Validate product development through alpha and beta testing with internal and external customers.
Directs the preparation of technical proposals for new products, processes or special customer needs.
Establish and maintain relationships with required external and internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and being achieved.
Establish / modify / monitor overall engineering program requirements, timing, and resources of downstream and support groups to meet / exceed business objectives and goals


Qualifications/Requirements:
Ability to take complex projects and communicate a simple, clear action plan to ensure effective execution
Bachelor's degree with 7 years experience in a product development environment with a minimum of 4 years in Project Management, Process Definition, Design Lead and/or functional management.
Demonstrated experience creating and managing project scope, developing and monitoring timelines and budgets for on-time and on-budget delivery.
Experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Experience working with globally dispersed development and quality assurance teams
Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding communication practices needed to create successful partnerships in an open and supportive environment.
Ability to communicate effectively across organizational lines
Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills (cross-functionally and globally)
Ability to drive program deliverables and identify and resolve technical and program issues/decisions
Experience in the video product development in we Industrial/consumer electronics industry is prefered.
Experience presenting to Senior Leadership
Team player with strong facilitation/interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement
Thorough understanding of the product development process with the ability to balance/manage commercial expectations and project timelines
Demonstrate the ability to act decisively based upon data and experience.
Experience working with non-US based teams and suppliers a plus. Sensitivity to cultural biases and understanding the communication practices needed to create successful partnerships in an open and supportive environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of both SW and HW product development environment as evidenced by the completion of at least 2 large scale, successful new product development projects from start to finish
Work as a coach/mentor to develop less experienced engineers and assist in their career growth.
Project Management Institute (PMI) PMP or CAPM certification from PMI is desired.
Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally within a dynamic matrixed global environment.

Awareness of Six Sigma, DFSS and DFR (Design for Reliability)
