In this position, the individual will be responsible for quality engineering and management at the supplier(s) during new product introduction and mass production activities to ensure the products and services delivered meet Nautilus requirements and expectations and to mitigate the potential risk impact to all products supplied to Nautilus world wide

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

l Support all Nautilus global stakeholders (Quality, New Product introduction, Project management, Global sourcing, etc.) in the deployment of the supplier quality management strategy among assigned Asian suppliers

l Provide direct support to all assigned NPI project engineering team members in direct communication, process validation, product development during all phases of development, launch and post launch support phases.

l Participate in regularly held product development project meeting/calls as the supplier quality engineering stakeholder, working collaboratively with the engineering team(s) to support the NPI design reviews e.g. drawing review, CTF/CTQ review, prototype review and FAI etc. This includes the ownership and qualification of FAI, pilot run, pre-production and production launch reviews

l Ownership of new product introduction supplier quality verification plan development and implementation and timing results.

l As responsible quality engineer having responsibilities for process control procedures e.g. FAI, Jig/fixture control plan, SOP/WI, tooling validation, QC criteria definition in support of QA directives during all NPI phases.

l Be responsible to account for, track and control all Nautilus owned tools/moulds, fixtures, etc. supported by on-site Quality Control personnel

l Ownership of the implementation of all approved engineering changes, deviations, through the Nautilus on-site quality Control technicians. Answering all inquiries of both QC and the supplier as required for full and accurate – on-time implementation of all approved ECO / TDN’s. This also include the personal validation or coordinating the in-person validation of Nautilus QC of the actual approved change.

l Support new supplier selection actions, through evaluation or analysis in support of Global Sourcing group.

l Drive continuous improvement activities with assigned suppliers through audits, analysis, and collaboration with assigned suppliers contributing to overall quality gains, cost reductions, and throughput increase (on-time delivery) Will work in collaboration with on-site nautilus QC, as well as implementing requirements, from Nautilus Quality assurance group.

l Lead Supplier (assigned) quality audits, Customer compliance, test and reliability development programs in concert with the Nautilus Quality assurance, NPI and reliability teams

l Act as escalation focal point to support root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier quality issues escalated by field, inspection, test, and complaint data.

l Maintain strong working relationships with all assigned suppliers, meeting on a regular basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering disciplines (Mechanical, , Industrial, manufacturing, production, etc.) is a must, and directly supplier quality engineering related experience or mechanical design background is preferred.
• Demonstrated work experience within supplier quality engineering management processes and tools; preference given to individuals with experience / knowledge of supplier performance management in terms of Delivery / Cost / Quality etc.
• Verifiable work experience within NPI project management during all phases of product development and market introduction
• Must possess exceptional problem analysis and resolution experience and skill
• Good technical quality and working knowledge in a minimum of the following production disciplines: welding, metal forming, machining, painting, assembly, plastics, electronics assembly, etc). Knowledge of CAD system is a requirement; preference given to those with Solid-works experience.
• Experience working within a Quality Management System (i.e., ISO 9001-2008, QS 9000, etc.) is a plus; prefer candidate that can demonstrate expertise with one of more of the following program types: Six Sigma, TQM, TPM, DFM
• Must demonstrate a motivation & willingness to excel under pressure and perform well in a challenging environment. Must be able to travel both domestic and internationally in support of assigned suppliers and projects.
• English level of CET-6, TEM preferred, be fluent both in oral & written.
• Prefer candidate to possess a friendly / passionate / open mind with excellent communication and coordination capability.
• Proven working experience within NPI project management teams during all product development phases and supporting timelines. Additionally possessing relevant NPI implementation / industrialization skills, with sponsorship experience working with both supplier and US design / project management teams
