We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer with an emphasis in product design and testing as well as manufacturing test support and component sourcing, to join our Product Development team in Shanghai, China.

The Electrical Engineer will provide new product development engineering and sustaining engineering for consumer exercise equipment. Primary responsibilities will include electrical design and documentation, manufacturing process development, documentation and factory support and component sourcing working in conjunction with the US Product Development team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Create electrical and firmware designs to support new product development (NPD) for consumer exercise equipment.

· Create manufacturing test processes and documentation

· Identify new component vendors and alternate electrical component sources available locally to drive cost and availability reducing lead times and securing alternate sources.

· Set up and train manufacturing partners on test fixtures and processes.

· Research of new technologies and develop concepts through prototype phase to support product innovation.

· Participate in board level digital and analog design reviews

· Participate in the creation and execution of system level integration test and verification of product safety and performance.

Qualifications:

· BS in Electrical of Computer Engineering.

· 3-7 years experience in an electrical engineering development environment.

• Must be able to communicate well in English (good skills in reading, writing, and speaking English)

· Good working knowledge of C and C++ embedded programming.

· Strong Digital and Analog circuit design skills.

· Proficient in robust design, development, and documentation methodologies (State Machine Design background)

· Schematic capture and printed circuit board layout (Eagle, OrCAD, PADS experience a plus).

· Possess an understanding of RF design.

· Experience with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth/BTLE is considered a plus.

· Experience in designing low-power systems or handheld devices are considered a plus.

· Motor Control (control system design) experience is considered a plus.

· Experience in designing consumer products for mid-to-high volume manufacturing is considered a plus.

· Knowledge of Verilog or VHDL for CPLD and FPGA design considered a plus.

· Experience with compliance testing for FCC, UL, ETL, and other agency approvals is considered a plus.

· Strong team player capable of efficiently working within a cross-functional product development team.

· Innovative personality capable of "thinking out of the box" to explore new ideas that would provide value to our customers.

· Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

· Must possess a strong desire to provide value to our customers through design.

Additional duties to be performed by this candidate:

· Extend department's capabilities in the Beijing time zone.

· Perform BOM cost analysis

· Build and test prototypes

· Design first article test fixtures. Need some hands on experience.

· Learn and understand the Nautilus change control system.

· Learn how to update code on all Nautilus platforms.

· Understand PCBA common quality problems.

· Be able to debug quality problems on our products.

· Become able to create component part specs. Motors, Alternators, Keypads and Displays.

· Get to understand basic ISO and compliance concepts.

· Inspect new suppliers from an EE technical viewpoint. Be a resource sourcing can use.
