Position Description
To quality assure the products and processes of suppliers to Volvo Parts within the Parts Global Purchasing teams by working with the suppliers and buyers to deliver PPAP's on time and participate in projects such as supplier changes.
· You will both work within a team and independently. It is very important that you have ability to create a good relationship with your suppliers and buyers
· Participate and lead supplier evaluations such as Supplier Evaluation Model (SEM & SSEM) and Process Audits
· Carry out quality assurance activities with the suppliers, including administrative work
· Verify and report fulfilment of APQP
· Verify parts in the "PPAP" process within the target dates
· Active participation in supplier related warranty issues
· Work with suppliers in resolving quality issues using problem solving tools and techniques
· Use the Review of Technical Specification (or similar technical evaluation process as part of a contract review) tool to resolve specification issues raised by the supplier
Qualifications
· Communication skills, networking skills
· Fluent in English & Mandarin
· Strong Analytical & technical skills with the ability to read and understand technical specifications such as drawings, standards and technical regulations
· Experience within a quality or purchasing environment
· Knowledge within the aftermarket business
· The ability to work both within a Team to share experiences, contribute to targets and goals and also to work on their own initiative both in the office location and at suppliers premises
· SEM leader auditor status would be beneficial
· Cost calculation and value stream mapping experience with regard to processes and tooling would be extremely advantageous
· Experience with engine & gearbox componentry would also be in favour of the applicant
· The candidate will ideally have 3 years, or more, experience in SQA or similar area relating to quality covering product validation, project implementation and auditing
There is a necessity to travel to suppliers in order to evaluate and approve parts and processes. This will mainly be within China however there may be instances which takes you outside of this geographical region.
