Who wants to join HEMA, an International Company as Merchandise Manager?

HEMA is an International department store of Dutch origin with more than 700 stores in Europe.

HEMA has an own buying and sourcing office in Shanghai with a team of around 35 people working for the company.

HEMA Far East Shanghai Rep office is looking for candidates to fill the position of:
Merchandise Manager ( local Chinese or European foreigner)
Professional skills/experience:
        To be responsible for the total sourcing and merchandising of the textile- or hard goods division.
        To have knowledge with respect to the technical- and commercial aspects of the relevant division and use this to guide the merchandising team.
        To communicate internally and externally as the merchandising expert for the relevant division, and to represent HEMA, also on management level.
        To understand the requirements of the company towards compliance of factories with HEMA QC and SC MRQ’s

Sourcing skills:
        To be able to translate the yearly sourcing projects into sourcing activities and source factories those are up to HEMA standard.
        To be able to guide suppliers during sample stage from product spec till sample to assure a good sample outcome

Management of merchandising team
        To be able to motivate the merchandisers to do the best job.
        To set-out the priorities for the merchandising team.
        To coach merchandisers on all levels in order to improve their skills.

 Order follows up
        To monitor the order follow up from the merchandisers on high level.
        To be able to judge samples on approval and teach merchandisers to do so.
        To monitor the punctual follow up of critical paths and assure in time deliveries.

Buyer’s trips
        To define the visiting schedule, together with merchandisers and inform suppliers.
        To support buyer during trips in communication and negotiation with suppliers.

Level of requirements:
2-4 years’ experience Merchandise Manager with an international retail company
University graduate
Used to travel independently
Used to work within International environment
Good computer skills
Can speak and write English
