Purpose of Position
Provide support for the Global Procurement team supporting the achievement of ATG’s goals on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost through the use of innovative technology and lean manufacturing principles (OPEX) at suppliers. Assist in developing and implementing this OPEX plan at suppliers with category managers to drive improvement in performance metrics at suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
? Work with Global Procurement Team that is responsible for development of category strategies and supplier selection products.
? Partner with Category Managers and drive improvements with supplier relationships and supplier relationship management for specified categories
? Support negotiation strategy from development through execution
? Support performance management standards for the category and suppliers; monitoring performance with rigorous supplier metrics
? Support supplier qualification and certification programs
? Support category managers supporting supplier base with input from internal customers
? Support RFI, RFP contract development and review processes and utilize appropriate support tools to enhance sustainable results
? Act as the central point of OPEX expertise and knowledge for suppliers
? Constantly monitor supplier market characteristics and identify opportunities resulting from market shifts

Skills and Qualifications
? Broad business knowledge and a minimum of 5 years progressive experience in procurement and OPEX principles
? An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline is required
? Deep understanding of supplier market and category spend
? Ability to support tailored strategies for commodities under management
? Capacity to plan and manage negotiation effort, self-starter with a high sense of urgency
? Specific category understanding and expertise
? Strong teamwork orientation, able to influence broadly across specific sourcing category
? Good management skills, able to track multiple priorities and performance targets, interacting effectively with category managers and suppliers
? Good understanding and experience in Strategic Planning, Sourcing Strategy Development & Implementation, Supplier Analysis, Negotiation and Change Management
? Excellent analytical skills using excel. SAP expertise strongly preferred
? Effective project management skills, able to communicate category strategy through strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
? Combines highly developed negotiation and strategy skills with a stature of integrity and experience that represents Apex Tool Group effectively before a variety of audiences, building positive and productive relationships
? Able to travel up to 70%

? Internal & External Cost/Delivery/Quality/Inventory metrics
? OPEX metrics including project costs and project timing
? Sustainment of all OPEX metrics & improvement conducted within the Global Procurement Team
? Sustainment of Improvements
? Meeting deadlines on all action plans, etc.
? Successful tracking of all OPEX items at suppliers
? Manufacturing process and productivity improvements
