DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Architecture& Performance Services provides evaluation and deployment planning servicesfor new/emerging products/technologies.
Pioneer new technologies in collaboration with Product Development and Enterprise Operational teams in a Development IT organization
Lead and plan new Enterprise Technology Deployments
Provide technical solution on performance issues escalated from Production / Test environments
Develop best practices and standards for Deployments and Operations
ork closely with Product Development on emerging products as part of the product quality improvement process
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION
You will be in a global internal support team to:
Provide internal production system (Operating System Platform on Linux and other Unix flavors) and Cloud systems support
Design production architecture, migration/upgrade solutions
Participate in projects and influence project directions in compliance with PDIT technology standards.
Help development team to improve Oracle product quality
Research new technologies across technology stacks and infrastructure layers
DETAILED JOBDESCRIPTION
As part of this team,your responsibilities include :
Design production system architecture
Ensure production system stability and availability
Plan and deploy production system migration/upgrade
Involve and influence project directions in compliance with PDIT technology standards
System debugging and performance tuning
Work with development team closely to improve Oracle product quality
Research new technologies, which includes but not limited to Database/Storage/Linux/Solaris/Network/Java
Train junior engineers and teammates
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
DEGREE/MAJOR – Graduation mandatory (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related BS/MS degree)
Any Unix/DB/Storage certifications are an asset but not required
Soft Skills
Self motivated and self managing
Excellent communication / follow-up / time management skills
Ability to fulfill role/duties independently within defined policies and procedures
Ability to balance multi-task and multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction is key
Be able to work in an interrupt-driven environment
Be able to work on multiple projects and willing to work on occasional weekend maintenance windows
Ability to function both as an individual contributor as well as a team player
Strong communication skills and fluent English
Team leader experience is a big plus
The successful candidate will be self-sufficient, have experience supporting Oracle database in a large scale data center, and be able to work with minimal supervision
Technical Skills
3+ years working experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environment, 3+ years as an Linux/Unix developer or system administrator
Strong knowledge and Concept on OS Kernel, Storage and Network
Strong operating system administration, tuning and trouble shooting skills
Linux/Unix system administration experience is a must
Operational on-call support experience on production, mission critical environment is a must, including hands on experience on debugging kernels, Cloud environments, and system infrastructure support
Automation script development
Hands on experience of any following technology are a plus: Oracle Linux, OVM, Oracle database and application products, current industry trend and emerging technologies for scaling up Cloud infrastructure
