Main Purposes of the Job
* Ensure purchase orders are placed with vendors in a timely manner
* Deliver goods on-time, in full to our customers in the UK
* Reduce stock levels of direct imports, maintaining availability
Key Performance Areas
Purchase Orders (PO)/UK liaison
* Working with the UK teams to review forecasts
* Challenge MOQs and lead-times to assist UK to manage stock levels and availability
* Validate order detail (i.e. price, MOQ, dates)
* Ensure maximum container utilisation
Vendors and production
* Identify key stakeholders who control production and thus delivery
* Monitor orders through production – raw materials, production schedules, packing
* Raise potential issues and delays early and seek solutions
Logistics
* Understand the end to end logistical process – from space booking, through documentation to delivery and payment
* Support vendors in the relationship with our freight forwarders (e.g. container availability, shipping space)
Relationships
* Build close relationship with the UK teams and act together to manage the order book
* Use colleagues in Asia to assist in information gathering (e.g. QA teams, merchandisers)
* Create a direct line to decision makers at factories
Creativity and Problem Solving
* Day-to-day issue resolution, through building a network of experts throughout TP, both in the UK and Asia and within vendors.
* An end-to-end view of product delivery, from order to delivery in the UK, the Analyst will look to develop smarter ways of moving goods (e.g. consolidation, stock at origin, etc).
Freedoms and Constraints
* Freedom to define the way in which we work – developing the Supply Chain process in Asia
* As a start-up, initially we will have limited IT systems and visibility of product tracking. A constraint but also a huge opportunity to shape the future.
Person Specification / Requirements
* Strong English – spoken and written
* Strong planning skills and a structured approach to work
* Determined and persistent - getting to the bottom of issues
* Excellent understanding of supply chain management, logistical terminology and process (both inland and export)
* Some production and quality assurance understanding preferred
