Introduction

The DELL EMC Hybrid Cloud Engineering Organization’s Big Data engineering team is responsible for developing federated, next generation solutions leveraging Dell EMC core products and platforms with the specific purpose of solving Big Data use cases for customers. We architect, develop, test and document the solution stack, generally comprised of but not limited to core EMC products. Detailed coordination with both internal (VMware, Pivotal, RSA) and external partners is required.

The primary role for solutions software engineering is the technical implementation of complex, high profile solution initiatives. Solution scope generally involves various storage and data repositories, data movement layers, analytics databases, APIs and application enablement. Projects will often be developed with a rapid prototyping or proof-of concept approach. Ability and demonstrated experience working independently through complex issues is a must.

General Description

-Conducts a wide range of quality control tests and analyzes to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements
-Typically responsible for tests, methods, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement to software quality assurance and serviceability standards.
-Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.
-Ensures that system tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolved.
-Debugs software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products.
-Performs development and execution of software quality methods and processes. Implements and defines testing methodology and standards to improve results.

Required Skills
- An Associate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, related field or equivalent experience
- Strong written and verbal English skills
- 2+ years’ experience with quality assurance in a product/solution development environment
- 1+ years’ hands-on experience in systems and frameworks such as Haddop, CloudFoundry, VMware vSphere
- 1+ years’ experience in automation using Python/Java
- Solid understanding of quality assurance methodologies and practices
- Must be effective working not only independently but also in a team setting

Strongly Desired Skills
- 1+ years’ experience working with operational services in IaaS & Paas environments such as VMware SDDC, AWS and OpenStack
- 1+ years’ hands-on experience in systems and frameworks such as Haddop, CloudFoundry, VMware vSphere
- Expertise in scripting languages: Python, Perl, Bash, Shell
- SQL/NoSQL DB familiarity – (Mongo, Cassandra, Hive, MySQL)
- Experience working with SOA RESTful Web Services
- Experience with modern test tools and automation frameworks
- Experience developing in an Agile framework
