职位描述
Experience Required:
Min. 8 years experience in sourcing and buying environment & basic knowledge on trading
5 years experience in working with international buyers particularly around visiting suppliers and following up on trips
Worked previously with international customers in a retail environment
Education: Form 7 or above
Advanced technical knowledge of category
High level of spoken/written communication skills both English & Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin)
Proficiency in computer operation (MS Word & Excel)
Key Responsibilities:
Develop the strategy for the category in conjunction with the Buyers
Work with finance to prepare category budgets
Analysis and monitoring of market activities for new opportunities
Identify suppliers new sources of supply that meet the Business's requirements with regards to product quality, price and ability to ship on time
Negotiate and set up contracts with new and existing suppliers
Manage product development with the Woolworths team, suppliers and factories
Deliver cost reductions for new briefs/products when compared to existing/alternative sources of supply and on existing range and repeat business.
Work with the merchandisers and assistant merchandisers to ensure that suppliers and factories are effectively measured to guarantee high quality products and quality service standards
Keep abreast of market trends in products and technology development both locally and internationally
Manage the strategic relationship with the vendor to ensure their awareness of the companies direction
Work collaboratively with the quality assurance team and supply chain on project coordination
Provide strong leadership to the merchandisers, assistant merchandisers
Coach, train and mentor the team and ensure key people are in place to deliver growth of business
Be familiar with Australian import customs and governmental requirements
Be familiar with local export customs and government requirements
Ensure packaging, barcodes, labelling & shipping integrity
Ensure there are social accountability, safety and legal compliance
Ensure Woolworths buying processes and policies are implemented and adhered too. Woolworths Trading termsare within the guidelines
