Software Engineer




RESPONSIBILITIES:



Responsible for developing, porting and maintaining client-side Web Service module of state-of-the-art online content multimedia software applications for embedded system, such as set-top box, DVD player, Blu-ray player, streaming media device and so on;



Responsible for software unit test and optimizing;

Work close with quality assurance team to keep high quality of product;

Proposes workable solutions to problems by analyzing business and technical trade-offs among alternatives.

Sets and meets deadlines with qualified deliverables, effectively adapting and modifying plans based on changing data or conditions.




QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certification, work experience):



B.S./M.S. in CS, EE or equivalent major (full time);

2+ years relevant work experiences;

2+ years commercial software development experiences;

1+ year HTML4/HTML5/CE-HTML/JavaScript/Java experience required.



KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS (Creativity/Innovation, problem solving, independence, decision making, accountability, leadership, communication):



Background in Consumer Electronics is desired;

Unix / Linux programming experience is highly desired;

Rich experiences on HTML4/5, XHTML or CE-HTML and JavaScript/Java development;

Object Oriented programming skills;

Familiar with XML and a few of web services protocols such as SOAP, JSON, SOCKET;

Familiar with CSS, DOM and AJAX programming;

Familiar with at least one JavaScript framework such as MooTools, jQuery and Prototype;

Know about digital media basic knowledge (audio, video, image);

Can quickly pick up existing code architectures as well as developing new designs;

Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet aggressive deadlines;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Excellent written and verbal English;

Good learner, positive attitude and ability to work well with others in a team-oriented setting.




NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:



Experience on C/C++ is plus;

Familiar with design pattern is plus;

Developing skills on WEB or Database such as ASP, ASP.NET, SQL is plus.

Familiar with MVC architecture is plus;





WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



Moving and setup of monitors, computers

Occasional evening and weekend required
