REPORTING TO: Director, Distribution Center operations, China
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The manager, DC Logistics role will be responsible for supporting Gap Inc.’s China Logistics Operations management team. The incumbent will primarily be accountable for analyzing DC performance and providing solutions to the Logistics management team. They will also , develop and lead Continuous Improvement Plans. This role will drive, develop and implement strategy to ensure DC online, retail outbound and VAS service level and 3PL on-time performance and ultimately, that the key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. This person will also be responsible for the development and management of their team.
This role collaborates closely with other Supply Chain functions and other relevant internal business partners to ensure goal alignment and business success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Responsible for the overall performance of DC daily physical operation including online, retail outbound and VAS operations.
? the main contact window towards 3PL DC team;
? Overseeing the safe receipt, storage, pick & pack, Value Added Service (VAS) and timely dispatch of goods.
? Ensure warehouse productivity targets are met and maintain computerized administration;
? Monitor space utilization and track stock levels, plan and execute space optimization with business fluctuation.
? Responsible for warehouse operation capacity review and update on a regular basis (monthly and weekly). Ensure the flexibility of warehouse capacity among low and peak season for retail and ecommerce business; Ensure a proper day-to-day work plan in place in warehouse to mitigate the overtime cost.
? Ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building, equipment and stock. Establish computerized administration on fix assets and non-merchandise.
? Responsible for online order fulfill performance, customer experience performance and return operation performance. Continuously improve the warehouse online fulfill capability to support the online business growth.
? Build up efficient and effective VAS reporting and communication system.
? Responsible for DC online, retail outbound and VAS operations Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) review and update. Ensure that DC online, retail outbound and VAS operations are aligned with our (SOP).
? Work with Industrial Engineer to continuously improve productivity through applying new working method and equipment. Communicate with the Industrial Engineers for any process change, productivity review and verification. Work with warehouse providers and Industrial Engineers to identify any new or exceptional process, to ensure that the SOP’s are in place and that productivity is reported on a timely basis.
? Responsible for the logistics “cost per unit” (CPU) performance of warehouse online and retail outbound. Proactively monitor and control the actual spending to ensure the balance between cost and service.
? Optimize KPIs to enable efficient GAP supervision on warehouse operations.
? Understand relevant policy, law and regulations. Demonstrate and ensure absolute adherence to Gap Inc.’s Code of Business Conduct as well as compliance with all local laws and regulations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
? University graduate with Bachelor degree is must.
? Strong interpersonal skills, fluent in written & spoken English and Mandarin.
? At least 8 years’ hands on experience in warehousing operation with 3 years on manager role.
? Experience in ecommerce warehouse with minimum monthly volume at 5,000 orders. FF or FMCG distribution is preferred.
? Must be familiar with Info system WMS, knowledge on JDA is preferred.
? Strong data analysis capability and problem solving skills.
? Experienced in managing 3PL and 3rd party distribution centers with retail and online operation under same roof.
? Knowledge on warehouse SOX control and familiar with the audit and control process.
? Experience working in a multi-national company;
? Strong Integrity, self-motivated, open-minded and ability to work independently and under pressure in a multi-cultural environment with minimal supervision.
? Proficient computer skills such as those in Excel spreadsheets and other Microsoft office software applications.
? Position will be located in Distribution Center after a couple of months in the office. Domestic and Iinternational travel is required (as necessary).
