POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Tooling Engineer is responsible for all tools that will support the operations of both RB Asia Factories. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Serve as Tooling Engineer responsible for mold transferences, cost reduction, and capacity expansion molds.
Identify and implement programs to improve quality, reliability, and costs via changes/improvements in tooling.
Support daily production operations with regards to injection molds and all molding quality issues.
Ensure mold preventive maintenance is performed on schedule and to expectations.
Become a team member for the construction of any mold scheduled to support RB Asia factories.
Be the primary liaison between RB Asia and Rain Bird Tooling Engineers at other facilities.
Ensure long-term DFMA at highest quality and lowest cost to Rain Bird.
Work on and manage cross-SBU strategic projects to enhance products, improve productivity and transfer new technology.
Evaluate and develop domestic tooling sources for high quality molds and maintenance services.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Mechanical Engineer, Plastics Engineering, Polymer Engineering or Engineering Technology degree
7-10 years experience in injection molding and manufacturing within a related process
English language written and verbal
Extensive experience in high quality mold procurement
Extensive experience in mold design and manufacturing – from prototype to Class 101 molds
Strong knowledge of injection molded plastic product design, processing and materials
Strong project management skills
Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, DOE, and Process Capability Studies
Computer proficient – MS Office, MS Project, etc.
Experience in CAD and CAE such as MoldFlow and SolidWorks
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team environment as a leader as well as an individual contributor
A self-starter who is organized and energetic with strong work ethics

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with advanced processing technologies such as two-shot, co-injection, MuCell, Gas-Assist, etc.
Scientific / Decoupled Molding
Advance Engineering degree
