职位描述
Purpose of the position
- Lead and develop the Ocean Freight operations (CS, DPO, DPA, Implants etc.)
- Fulfill the transportation demand within the agreed boundaries in a cost efficient and optimal way
- Ensure a constructive collaboration with M&S as well as other departments within BU
- Take advantage of operations synergies in the PA group (e.g. other BU)
Key Tasks
Management responsibilities: 80%
· Owner for Ocean Freight related processes in the own department, responsible for the smooth and effective process flow, well-functioning interfaces as well as adherence to the defined quality standards
· Manages all strategic activities
- Develop and define a long-term network plan which fits the network and the Panalpina standard requirements
- Define key suppliers together with Procurement , establish long-term relationships and negotiate long-term contracts
· Supervises and controls all activities within Ocean Freight department and ensures best in class service
· Ensures smooth communication with other departments and represents the own department towards customers, suppliers and other internal and external stakeholders.
· Leads, motivates and develops the team in a professional manner, both in compliance with company goals and standards and with HR policy, tools and guidelines
· Supports the substitutes to supervise and optimize the capacity utilization on the existing network in respect of operational and financial aspects from a BU view in the interest of the PA Group
· Forecasts and analyses volume and capacity on a BU level for own department
· Establishes procedures and manuals for all entities within the department
· Responsible for compliance to general rules and regulations
· Runs defined projects within the department cost consciously according to the defined timeline
· Designs, implements and monitors service performance quality reporting within the department Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including quality control and initiates corrective measures if necessary
· Participates planning with HR (training, FTE), FIN (budget) etc.
Administration: 20%
· Supports overall invoice and cost control and gives corresponding instructions
· Supports Subcontractor Management (administration, audit, etc.).
· Prepares, supervises and coordinates statistical information within the department
· Controls and signs off invoices for administrative expenditures
· Prepares statistics for controlling purposes
· Gives training to new staff (Induction training) and other stakeholders on request

· Industrial know-how in import & export trading
· Know how in procurement and capacity management processes
