Being a Junior Analyst at S&P
 
Develop your professional skills by securing an unusual combination of legal and hands-on consultancy experience working on projects primarily with an intellectual property emphasis with Schmittzehe & Partners in Shanghai (near People’s Square).

We offer applicants with a wide range of backgrounds with excellent English-language skills an opportunity to build or change their career. Fresh graduates with no work experience are welcome to apply as well as those with any and all professional backgrounds. This can be a great opportunity for someone with, for example, an administration or secretarial background seeking to gain exposure to more business experience in the consulting and law sectors. No prior legal or consulting experience is required but by joining our team you will build-up valuable expertise in aspects of both legal and management consulting work with an emphasis on intellectual property in areas including fashion and consumer goods. You will be given considerable responsibility while being supervised and coached by more experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities
The candidate will be based in our Shanghai Office. The main job responsibility is to work with our colleagues in our Shanghai and UK offices helping our clients such as fashion and cosmetic brands to identify and take down counterfeit links from major Chinese e-commerce websites (e.g. Taobao and Alibaba).

All academic backgrounds are considered.
Fresh graduates with no work experience are welcome to apply as well as those with any and all professional backgrounds. This can be a great opportunity for someone with, for example, an administration or secretarial background seeking to gain exposure to more business experience in the consulting and law sectors.

Key selection criteria will include:
? Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written in both cases).
? Be passionate about Intellectual Property Rights protection, keen to learn about the IPR challenges foreign brands have encountered in China, and enthusiastic to learn and become an expert in this area.
? Be a fast learner, able to get familiarized with different categories of genuine products of a brand in a short period of time, be able to identify counterfeit products on e-commerce platforms, especially Taobao and Alibaba, and write concrete reasons to compare the counterfeits and genuine products.
? Be detail-oriented, be able to navigate Taobao and Alibaba’s intellectual property protection website, file the complaints with correct reasons and ensure the approval rate of complaints.
? Have excellent communication skills, talk to Taobao’s representatives on a daily basis to ensure the complaints are filed with correct reasons and the complaints can be approved by Taobao, liaise with the UK office regularly to update the situation, make inquiries and answer questions.
? Be patient and discreet to answer the inquiries from different sellers regarding the complaints through emails & phone calls, and be able to solve complicated issues arising from the complaint filing and processing process.
? Be a good record keeper. Keep the records of all the sellers and complaints filed every day, as well as all the newly added takedowns.
? Be result-oriented and persistent, ensure to reach complaints filing target every day, send a daily update to the UK office, deliver a satisfactory result by deadline, and compile monthly reports summarizing all the takedowns and new findings of the month.
