Sourcing Engineer
Job Summary
The Sourcing Engineer will lead efforts in exploring, initiating, developing, and validating opportunities in quality improvements and cost savings and other supply chain related opportunities.
He/she shall be stationed in China and report to the director of engineering in Singapore.
Responsibilities and Duties:
? Responsible for managing the activities of ERNI Asia sourcing projects in China, Taiwan and remote markets to achieve cost, quality, and service levels.
? Identification of low cost, good quality and reliable outsourcing vendors in line with company’s needs, conducting detailed supplier benchmarks (RFQ’S, audit, risk analysis…etc.) and proposal of total supply cost sourcing to management.
? Conduct supplier system and process audits in compliance with ERNI’s supplier performance and monitoring goals and objectives.
? Making commercial and technical negotiations with suppliers.
? Follow up the enquiry issued to the outsource suppliers
? Follow up the production and supervise the shipments of products throughout the contract process.
? Establish strategic mapping of outsourcing vendors in China and Taiwan.
? Put in place system to ensure the outsourced process can meet the cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
? Develop and optimize outsourcing process.
? Assist with quality problem resolutions
Education
? Bachelor’s degree in business management, purchasing, materials logistics, engineering or equivalent.
Experience & Knowledge
? At least 4 years of similar scope/role experience in a multinational manufacturing organization involving vendor management and supplier quality.
? Must have knowledge in electrical connectors.
? Solid network relationship with outsourcing companies is preferred.
? Understanding of quality assurance process (ISO)
Skills
? Strong negotiator.
? Good project management abilities.
? Ability to handle / strategically manage Taiwanese / Hong Kong / Chinese vendors.
? Fluent in English and Chinese languages.
