Quote Manager, Automotive GAM

Location: Shanghai Zhangjiang RD Center or Jiading Malu Site


Job Description *

PURPOSE:

Responsible for driving the presales process towards informed and effective bid decisions by providing the project and management teams with timely, relevant, comprehensive and accurate recommendations.


PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES:

1. Lead the presales process in terms of deliverables, reviews, and approvals according to the proposal time frame.
2. Understand the opportunities in terms of customer requirements, timing, costs, risks, features, competition and any other area impacting bid content and strategy.
3. Generate the sales quotes and present them to management teams for informed bid decisions.
4. Coordinate with the team to ensure the consistency of the commercial proposal with the agreed bid strategy, financials and content.
5. Ensure effective dissemination of appropriate pre-sales information within the project teams.
6. Enable bid discussions that support business growth, strategy and profitability.
7. Interact with technical staff, product teams and other relevant departments in order to be aware of technology advances and competition.
8. Involve required parties for quotation based on the model and individual customer requirements.
9. Contribute to the regular updates of the quote model and the improvement of the overall quote process.
10. Occasionally may take part in sales contract negotiations.
11. Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.


Job Requirements *

REQUIRED (MUST-HAVE) QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the function and Flextronics business. Has awareness of the functional impact upon work processes and other functions.
2. Use of the following tools may be required: Office Skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation package
3. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to practical situations.
4. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
5. Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training plus a minimum of 5 years of management experience.

DESIRED (NICE-TO-HAVE) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
2. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
3. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined procedures and policies for selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
