The Role

Catalogue Designer reports to Senior Art Director.
Catalogue Designer will be responsible for catalogue creation and production development and bring new ideas on the table and develop attractive and selling layouts.

Responsibilities

Catalogue Creative layout development – together with the creative catalogue team, create selling category pages in the catalogue. Make sure layouts are exciting and price/ products are clear communicated (HERO) according to regional catalogue planners brief and dummy and Sr Art Directors visualized concept. Support the Sr Art Director in the brainstorming sessions and make sure the catalogue and the overall quality maintain Oriflame standard and guidelines are followed.

Local knowledge – Make sure the catalogues are suitable for our local market and understand their needs and tone of voice in specific cases and themes. Have a great working relationship and communication with the markets and be supportive as well as leading them to understand our processes.

Global knowledge – Make sure corporate guidelines are implemented and followed in Asia.

Print proof check & quality – Make sure all details are correct and checked before printing together with the Production Coordinator. Ensure the qualities of the files we deliver to printer are correct and that color proof is inline with printers output.

Retouch – Responsible for being cost and time efficient when designing and order retouches. Be responsible of checking global as well as local media bank for alternatives before ordering unnecessary retouches. Discuss and elaborate with the retoucher to make sure we make the most of our material as well as not going overboard with unrealistic orders.

Upload files – Together with the Sr Art Director create LR files for different upload according to our time schedule.

Text library updates – follow the guidelines and rules set by the Sr Catalogue Designer and make sure that the markets translation is inserted and correct and in the standard way set by the Sr Catalogue Designer.

Product knowledge – go through our product cabinets, compare with catalogues and order new products on a monthly basis.


Profile

Initiative – the candidate should be self-motivated and able to motivate others. Able to make decisions and possessing the tenacity to get things done.

Creative – the candidate must have strong design skills and be able create new ideas.

Technical – the candidate must have strong technical skills from graphic industry and good knowledge in graphic software’s, printing and retouch. Be able to find solutions when deadline is tight and if technical problems occur.

Team player – the candidate need to have strong communication skills and be able to “sell” the layouts and work well with others.

Project leader – must be able to work independent.

English spoken – Able to writing and speaking.

Programme skills – Mac, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office.
