The Global China Practice (GCP) is a dynamic, newly launched initiative within KPMG that creates a platform to serve our Chinese clients expanding overseas, and our multinationals clients entering and expanding in the China market. GCP plays a pivotal role in supporting the firm's inbound and outbound M&A initiatives.



The successful candidate will be part of GCP's China Research Centre, which supports both GCP and the firm's industry focus groups comprising

· Consumer Markets

· Financial Services

· Industrial Markets

· Information, Communications & Entertainment

· Infrastructure, Healthcare

· Private Equity.



The mission of the China Research Centre is to provide timely, innovative ideas and insights to our KPMG professionals and our clients, in China and globally



Responsibilities:



·Assist GCP team members with desktop research and strategic analysis on different industries.

·Maintain well organized Excel databooks in relation to research tasks.

·Collect and organize data for use in current and future projects, especially China inbound/outbound investment trends and other key statistics.

·Maintain data quality by cross-checking against other sources including KPMG's internal subject matter experts

·Create logically organized and graphically appealing PowerPoint presentations in both English and Chinese.

·Create reports tracking GCP activities.

·Provide research support for GCP publications.

·For industry-focused assistance, duties also include

(1) develop and maintain an industry database;

(2) produce industry profiles and overview reports; and

(3) use industry data to develop and regularly update PowerPoint presentations.

·Help with other research and analysis tasks as needed.



Experience and Knowledge:



·A minimum of 2 years working experience at a large multinational corporation, preferably in a position that required industry research and data analysis (applicants for the senior analyst position need to have 4 years relevant working experience).

·Strong research and analysis skills, including ability to use interviews, internet search engines and databases to find the required information, and to apply analytical frameworks and tools to analyse and draw conclusions from the base data

·A creative approach to problem-solving and developing insights from disparate, conflicting or incomplete data sources

·Graphics experience is helpful. Strong communication skills in English and Chinese (both written and verbal).

·High degree of self-motivation and ability to work under pressure.

·Excellent teamwork skills and attention to detail.



Education and Professional Certifications:



·A university degree holder (preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or other quantitative subject); a Master's degree is a plus.



Other Requirements:



·Strong writing skills, especially ability to draft compelling arguments and coherent documents suitable for external audiences.

·Computer skills are essential, especially ability to use MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
